يرفض الضابط شكري عبدالعال (جمال سليمان) إطلاق النار على المتظاهرين ضد الاحتلال الإنجليزي، فعوقب وأحيل للتقاعد، ومع مرور الوقت يتمكن من العودة إلى عمله مرة أخرى لكنه يتعرض للموقف نفسه ويصبح مطالبًا من جديد بإطلاق النار على الطلاب المصريين في تظاهراتهم.
