Parvati confronts Mahadev and demands to know the reason for Kartikeya's failure, when Kartikeya fails to kill Tarakasur. Mahadev tells Parvati that Tarakasur can only be defeated by the most destructive weapon of all and that weapon is herself. Mahakaali transforms herself into a scepter which Kartikeya uses to slay the mighty Tarakasur.
