Toyohara Kotaro (60) has finally reached retirement after many years of hard work as a civil engineer. He purchases a ring as a gift to his wife Yoko who has supported him throughout his career, planning to give it to her over dinner. But before he has a chance to give it, she suddenly asks for a divorce. The drama examines married life from the differing perspectives of husband and wife, and sheds light on the growing phenomenon of divorce in old age.
