Minipops was a television series broadcast in 1983 on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. Mini Pops was designed primarily for younger viewers, it consisted of music performances by a group of precocious though talented pre teen British children imitating 80’s chart acts & classics by dressing in the same clothes and plastering themselves in make-up and performing in a bright lollipop-coloured set. Controversy erupted over how appropriate the show's content was for children, as many of the selected songs contained sexual innuendo,this controversy led to the show's cancellation after one series.
