Mr. Monk and the Big Reward

Pan Monk a Natalie hledají nejdražší diamant světa, který byl odcizen z muzea. Za drahokam je vypsaná odměna milion dolarů. Adrian Monk přijde na to, že zloděj ukryl diamant přímo na policejní stanici. Přilepil ho při výslechu žvýkačkou ke stolu. Když je Mank s Natalií téměř u vysněného cíle, diamant objeví před jejich očima uklízečka, která si pak pro milionovou odměnu letí do Londýna soukromým letadlem.

Aus einem Museum in San Francisco wurde der weltberühmte "Alexander'-Diamant gestohlen, weshalb Lloyds of London eine Million Dollar Belohnung für seine Wiederbeschaffung in Aussicht gestellt hat. Das kommt Monk und Natalie sehr gelegen, denn sie leiden seit einiger Zeit unter akuter Geldnot, da die Polizei keine neuen Mordfälle für sie hat. Deshalb machen sie sich unverzüglich auf die Suche nach dem verschwundenen Juwel. Doch leider wird ihnen diese Suche erschwert, denn angesichts der hohen Belohnung sind Monk und Natalie natürlich nicht die Einzigen, die nach dem Diamanten fahnden. Schon bald werden sie auf Schritt und Tritt von einem obskuren Trio verfolgt, das aus drei ziemlich schrägen Vögeln besteht: dem jungen Hobbydetektiv Rufus, dem pensionierten Scotland-Yard-Inspektor St. Clare und dem Motorradrocker Dirk. Die Drei heften sich an Monks Fersen heften, da sie hoffen, dass er sie zu dem Versteck des Diamanten führen wird. Und nach einer abenteuerlichen Verfolgungsjagd gelingt es Monk tatsächlich, den Aufenthaltsort des Steins zu ermitteln. Doch leider zu spät, denn der Diamant wurde bereits von einer Putzfrau gefunden, die ausgerechnet von Monk immer dazu angehalten wurde, auch an den entlegensten Stellen zu putzen ...

Low on cash because they haven't had a homicide to investigate in three weeks, Monk and Natalie search for the stolen Alexander Diamond, hoping to win the million-dollar reward. Unfortunately, they have competition in the form of a retired Scotland Yard investigator, a bounty hunter, and a gadget-loving private detective, all of whom want the reward money for themselves. Monk quickly figures out that the heist was an inside job and that one of the robbers was under five feet tall, short enough to hide inside a roll-top desk. He also discovers a clue linking a perpetrator to a transcendental meditation retreat. With their competitors close behind them, Monk and Natalie head for the retreat, where they find the thief, who is unfortunately dead. Meanwhile, Disher is having to interrogate a strange young woman who keeps turning herself in for such "crimes" as stealing pens or murdering a hamster. Monk tells Natalie that he's solved the case and they race to the police station with the other detectives following. The only thing left is to find the diamond before their competitors do.

Alors qu'il n'ont pas mené d'enquête depuis trois semaines, Monk et Natalie n'ont plus du tout d'argent. Ils décident donc de partir à la recherche du célèbre diamant d'Alexandre, un joyau d'une valeur inestimable qui vient d'être volé. En effet, la récompense s'élève à un million de dollars pour celui qui le retrouvera. Malheureusement, ceux-ci sont en concurrence avec de nombreux autres détectives dont un ancien investigateur de Scotland Yard, un chasseur de primes et un détective privé.

Adrian Monknak hetek óta nincs új ügye és ezért természetszerűleg anyagilag is megszorul kissé. Natalie, hogy segítsen főnökén - és persze sajátmagán - ráveszi Monkot, hogy egy múzeumból ellopott nagy értékű gyémántot kutasson fel, hogy elnyerje a megtalálónak járó egymillió dolláros jutalmat. Csakhogy a jutalomra Natalie-n kívül másnak is fáj a foga.

Z muzeum skradziono bardzo cenny diament. Za jego odnalezienie wyznaczono milion dolarów nagrody, Monk i Natalie, którzy ostatnio maja kłopoty finansowe, postanawiają go odnaleźć. Po piętach depcze im jednak trójka detektywów, także mających ochotę na nagrodę.
