Na rozhraní stredného a východného Slovenska, v oblasti s malou návštevnosťou a riedkym osídlením leží Národný park Muránska planina. Pôvodom krasová náhorná planina je tajomným územím ohraničeným prudkými skalnatými zrazmi a hlbokými lesmi. Ohuruje históriou či divokou prírodou. Je domovom mnohých najvzácnejších druhov, aj takých, ktoré sa nevyskytujú nikde inde na svete. To z nej robí klenot medzi našimi národnými parkami. Dodnes ho nazývame aj Divočina v strede Slovenska.
On the border of central and eastern Slovakia, in an area with few visitors and sparsely populated, lies the Muránska Planina National Park. Originally a karst plateau, it is a mysterious territory bordered by steep rocky cliffs and deep forests. It amazes with its history and wild nature. It is home to many of the rarest species, including those that occur nowhere else in the world. This makes it a jewel among our national parks. We still call it the Wilderness in Central Slovakia.
