The eighth season of the National Heads-Up Poker Championship was filmed in 2013 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Some of poker's best players and brightest stars were part of the 64-entrant field, and included defending champion Erik Seidel and runner-up Chris Moneymaker, along with previous champions Phil Hellmuth and Huck Seed. Also in the field are WSOP champions Greg Raymer, Jonathan Duhamel, Carlos Mortensen, Greg Merson, and Doyle Brunson, alongside poker stars Phil Ivey, Viktor Blom, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Dan Cates, Jason Mercier, Nick Schulman, Tom Dwan, Jason Simerville, Phil Galfond, and Maria Ho.
