The documentary focuses on claimants living by the sea. They include 50-year-old Gary, who recently moved to Jaywick in Essex to be with his partner Geoff in their dream coastal home, but now finds himself unemployed for the first time since he was 16. In the East Yorkshire town of Bridlington, homeless Caroline was taken in by good samaritan Heather. But now the flat is overcrowded and the friends desperately need rehousing.
