昭和５８年（１９８３）に放送した、脚本家・橋田壽賀子が手がけた連続テレビ小説。山形の寒村に生まれたヒロインが、明治から昭和まで８０余年の激動の時代を懸命に生きる生涯を描いた人間ドラマです。けなげな少女期を小林綾子、青春期から中年期を田中裕子、晩年を乙羽信子という３人の女優が演じ分け、日本中に「おしんブーム」を巻き起こしました。平均視聴率５２．６％、最高視聴率６２．９％という驚異的な数字を記録しました。
