La serie presenta a Bell, un detective con agorafobia desde la pérdida de su esposa hace cinco años. Vive recluido con su madre en el río Apalachicola y resuelve casos desde su ordenador. Su vida da un giro al conocer a Nina, una policía de tráfico que necesita su ayuda en una investigación de asesinato. Nina es valiente y optimista, formando un equipo poco convencional pero efectivo para desentrañar misterios en el peligroso panhandle de Florida.
