Киноповесть о шестнадцатилетних подростках, стоящих на пороге большой жизни и решающих вопросы выбора жизненного пути. В мореходное училище пришли ребят разных судеб, характеров, темпераментов, но объединенные любовью к морю и мечтой навсегда связать свою судьбу с профессией моряка.
