Nils Dorow ist Diamantendieb. Er erfährt, dass die russische Exilantin Sonya Galinova ein wertvolles Diadem der Zarin verkauft. Nils erkennt ein von ihm in Südamerika gestohlenes und verändertes Schmuckstück wieder. Er beginnt, die Galinova und den Schmuckdesigner Joachim De Vry zu erpressen.
