يفتح المسلسل نافذة على حقبة مفصلية من تاريخ العراق الحديث، مستعرضاً تداعيات زلزال عام 1963 الذي أعقب إعدام رئيس الوزراء وما تبعه من صراعات سياسية عصفت بالبلاد؛ وفي قلب هذا المخاض، تبرز الملحمة الإنسانية لقطار السجناء السياسيين، حيث تتحول رحلة النفي والاعتقال إلى شرارة للمقاومة ورمزٍ للصمود في وجه الاضطرابات العنيفة.
