    After emigrating from Poland to the US when Joanna was a young girl, her father taught her how to make this traditional Polish beef stew with their own family twist. Her father joins her in the kitchen as they prepare a pot for the family.

    Lucia makes Peixada, a Brazilian fish stew that her Father used to make when she was a child.

    Bill’s parents owned their own restaurant when he was growing up which sparked his interest in cooking. He hits the kitchen with his Mom to cook cheese filled crepe manicotti and beef braciole, two staple Italian dishes.

  • S01E11 New England Comfort Food

    Kevin and Mark brought in traditional recipes from each other and their families. Kevin’s stuffed pork chops were a staple comfort food in his home growing up and Mark’s cauliflower bites were his Mothers way of tricking him in to eating his vegetables.

  • S01E12 Thai Fusion

    Matt grew up in West Africa where seafood was abundant and then spent time in his college years traveling through Thailand. These two influences and his Chef-Step-Mother spawned this creation, lime chili calamari, amazing!

  • S01E13 English

    Grant fires up his kitchen with his English Mother cooking a chicken divan recipe she made for him when they used to live in Wimbledon. Grant then shows off his own culinary skills preparing a steak au poivre with scalloped potatoes.
