The Harts are in court-ordered therapy. As the story unfolds, Brock and Reba reveal that they are separated due to Brock's midlife crisis and while in court the entire family — Reba, Brock, Cheyenne, Jake and Kyra — got into what the judge described as a brawl. While in therapy Brock reveals that he won't be moving back home because he has to marry his dental hygienist/assistant Barbra Jean. Why? She's pregnant. And... oops, little Jake lets it slip that Cheyenne, the Hart's 17-year-old daughter, is pregnant as well. Cheyenne and Van, her all-star football-playing boyfriend decide that they're going to get married. Reba organizes a shotgun wedding while trying to keep terminally perky Barbra Jean at a safe distance. Van's parents won't come to the wedding and have kicked him out of the house but, on the bright side, he managed to arrange a honeymoon at his uncle's beach house in Galveston. The high school's principal Mrs. Hodge calls Reba and Brock into her office to give them a brochure on an alternative school for pregnant mothers, called Hollyhouse, that she feels Cheyenne should attend. When Reba returns to say that Cheyenne's decision is to stay in her regular high school the principal makes it clear that this wasn't a request. When Reba insists that Cheyenne be allowed to stay, the principal suspends the pregnant teen for three weeks, enough time to ruin her grades. First, Brock brings Barbra Jean into the group, making Reba more than unhappy. Then they begin discussing Cheyenne's situation and Reba comes up with an idea. If they keep Van out of school as long as Cheyenne is out of school, the principal will have to give in and let them both back. Why? Because they'll lose their chance at a football championship without star cornerback Van. Cheyenne and Van have been staying at home in protest, but as the next big game approaches without any word from the Principal
Van has finally moved some of his stuff (that his parents thoughtfully threw out on their front lawn for him) into the room he shares with Cheyenne. Unfortunately, most of it's either in bad taste or just downright unacceptable (like the cheerleaders poster). But when Cheyenne doesn't object, Reba can't understand why she wouldn't tell Van how she really feels. While on a visit to the gynocologist, Reba also discovers that Cheyenne and Barbra Jean are sharing the same doctor... and Brock has brought little Jake to the appointment.
Cheyenne is experiencing morning sickness for the first time and Van is tired of her vomiting. Reba suspects that a neighbor does not want her son hanging out at Reba's house with Jake because of all the objectionable things that go on. Brock convinces Van that Cheyenne's morning sickness is mental and that she just needs to get over it — after all, Barbra Jean only had one day of queasiness and now she's fine. He suggests that Van and Cheyenne come over to his place for a nice dinner. Cheyenne agrees to go but still doesn't feel well. BJ takes her aside and tells her that she just needs to lie. BJ feels terrible and has morning sickness too, but she hides it from Brock to keep him happy. Cheyenne attempts to act happy but finally breaks down and admits to Van that she feels awful. They agree to be honest with each other. Reba's neighbor admits that she doesn't want her son at Reba's house so Reba denies Jake permission to go on a campout with his friend. After being named player of the week, Van begs Reba to host the pre-game dinner for the football team since his family won't even talk to him. When she finally gives in, he and Cheyenne are so excited she can't help but look forward to it... that is, until Brock and BJ arrive with the "bible" for team pre-game dinners. They offer to take hosting off of her hands, but Reba refuses to give in. If they have to have a perfect dinner, silly traditions and all, to win then that's what she'll give them. Reba has everything in order for the dinner until Cheyenne comes back from running errands at the store. It seems she was so overwhelmed looking in the baby aisle that when she went to pick up potato salad, she picked up the wrong kind. Reba solves the problem by dumping the potato salad into a serving dish and saying that no one will ever know. The dinner goes well, with Cheyenne even participating in cheers with her old squad. Her kitchen garbage disposal is on the blink again and Reba refuses to call Brock to fix it like he used to do when he still lived at home. She tries to fix the disposal herself but only makes it worse. Giving in, she calls a handyman. Bill (guest star Greg Evigan — ""B.J. and the Bear"") takes a look under her sink and finds all the of the ""patches"" that Brock has made over the years. Reba and Bill flirt and Brock gets jealous. When Bill offers to take Reba to a hardware store to pick out a new kitchen faucet, Reba can't believe that Bill would be hitting on her. Cheyenne is excited to be going out with the girls. While driving to a Wildcats football game they moon the players on the bus. Cheyenne has a great time but Van is upset that everyone is seeing his wife's butt. She argues that it's her butt and she can do whatever she pleases with it, besides she had so much fun... that is until Kyra points out that someone took pictures and they're on the internet. Cheyenne and Reba argue over whether or not Cheyenne should do laundry and grocery shopping. Cheyenne returns from ""grocery shopping"" with no bags, but an application for an apartment that she and Van found. The only problem is they don't have the money to support themselves. Cheyenne asks Reba and Brock for money and they turn her down. She then tells Van to ask his parents. After all, they must be over the whole wedding thing by now and feeling guilty on top of it. Van returns with a new truck and his parents offer for them to move in. Van and Cheyenne pack up and are ready to move to the Montgomery's house. When they take over their first load of stuff in their new truck Van's father asks to speak with him alone. The Montgomerys make it clear that they asked Van to move in, not Cheyenne. She discovers that he knows the information, but was so stressed out over football, his marriage, future career and baby that he blanked on the test. Lori Ann gets a glimpse of how accommodating Reba is to Brock and Barbra Jean and is amazed that her old friend could even allow her ex-husband's pregnant mistress into the house. It's clear that Brock and Lori Ann never really got along so he's less than thrilled that she's back in town. They trade barbs constantly. Brock and Reba are at the ""division of property"" stage of their divorce so Reba is cleaning out the garage, separating out all of Brock's things. She remembers fondly how she scrimped and saved to give him a set of golf clubs when he was in dental school. Nevertheless, she plans a lunch to celebrate the anniversary and tells Brock that he should stop by and say hi, but not to bring Barbra Jean. She announces at breakfast that she has a new position as a substitute teacher at the high school. Having known John D. for over 20 years, Reba prepares a small funeral ceremony including a few friends and family. The arrangements are almost complete when Brock comes by with BJ (deep in mourning even though she never met John D.). BJ put together an elaborate funeral complete with white doves and a Baptist choir. Reba takes Brock aside and convinces him that this isn't what John D. would've wanted. When Reba receives her final divorce papers, Lori Ann persuades her to get back into action and start dating. Lori Ann runs through her list of eligible men on her palm pilot and digs up Reba's former boyfriend from college, Parker Reynolds. Reba can't remember why she ever broke up with him and agrees to see him. On the first date she is reminded of why. He is a lousy kisser and there are no sparks between them. Kyra convinces Jake that Parker is gong to be the ""new Daddy"" and that Reba will be changing his name or even worse, give him away! Reba lets Parker down easy for the second time and out of respect lets him know that he is a lousy kisser and she feels nothing for him.
Barbra Jean is finally going to have her dream wedding to Brock. There's just one problem: a case of the pre-wedding jitters has hit the bride and she turns to Reba for help. BJ wants Reba's blessing for her marriage to Brock and for the wedding itself. Eventually Reba consents to BJ's request because she knows that marrying Brock is the right thing for Brock to do. Van is named the football ""player of the year"" and the only thing that would make his moment complete is to have his parents there. Reba tries to convince the Montgomerys to mend the rift with their son over his marriage to Cheyenne. Van's mom Sue attends the awards ceremony, and being so moved by her son's sentiments, she smothers him with attention. This causes Cheyenne to get upset over Van's new mama's boy behavior, especially when Sue leaves her husband and moves in with Reba. Reba encourages Van to cut the apron strings.
Van and Cheyenne have signed up for Lamaze classes so they are ready when the baby comes. But, Cheyenne has to finish a term paper for school and can't attend. Reba steps in as a temporary Lamaze partner for Van but is horrified to find out that Brock and Barbra Jean are in the same class.
Reba throws a baby shower for Cheyenne. She warns Brock to get the kids something practical, rather than the big screen TV he had planned on buying. At the end of the shower Reba gives Cheyenne a quilt she spent the last 8 months making out of Cheyenne's old baby clothes. Then Brock walks in and hands Cheyenne the keys to a brand new (well, used) car. Reba gets upset because they had a deal with their kids: they get a new car when they can pay for half. Cheyenne and Van need to pay for their half of the car before they can use it. Cheyenne starts doing work around the house and Van takes a job at a pizza place. When Van gets promoted to pizza delivery driver, Reba has to do the driving since Van doesn't technically have a car yet. When Reba finds out that a recruiter from USC is on his way, she convinces Brock to go on his camping trip anyway so he's not around to encourage Van to go to school all the way in California. During the recruiter's visit, Cheyenne feels what she thinks are labor pains. The whole family, including Barbra Jean, trots off to the hospital just to be sure. Cheyenne and Van are nominated for Prom Queen and King. Everyone's surprised by the students overlooking Cheyenne's pregnancy and nominating her anyway. Cheyenne's so excited because she feels like did before she was pregnant. Van finds out that the mean but beautiful cheerleader will most likely win Queen and, worried about how much it'll hurt Cheyenne, he tries to fix it. He convinces all the dorky kids in school to actually vote in the first place and vote for Cheyenne. In return, he'll invite them to a pre-prom party at Reba's house. Van and Cheyenne win and, after the party, head to the prom. The nasty cheerleader walks by and comments on why Cheyenne really won - Van's popularity. Upset, Cheyenne refuses to enter the dance. Back at home, Cheyenne and Van make up and dance together in Reba's living room.
Brock has once again fallen back on a promise he made to Jake by missing a soccer game. Jake scored his first goal (okay, so it was on his own team) and Brock missed it. Feeling guilty because he's spending so much of his time helping with the baby and keeping his dental practice going, Brock promises Jake he'll finally build that tree house in the backyard they've been talking about. Reba warns Brock not to make another promise he can't keep. Brock shows up one day with a huge box containing all the parts to the tree house and promises he'll put it together. As Jake gets impatient waiting for his tree house, Reba decides to rope Van into helping her build it. They manage to put it together, if a bit lopsided. Brock promises to spend the first night in the tree house with Jake. While they're outside, Barbra Jean comes over in a panic because she can't get the baby to sleep. Van and Cheyenne, who is nearing her due date and having trouble moving around, are excited about their upcoming graduation day. They tell Brock, BJ and Reba they want to be in the delivery room by themselves because it's about time they take reponsibility for things. Reba's hurt but takes the news in stride. Principal Hodges stops by and hands Cheyenne her diploma, assuming Cheyenne is too pregnant to attend the ceremony. It's obvious Principal Hodges just wants to avoid the embarrassment of a pregnant teen at graduation. Cheyenne stands up for herself and says she'll be at the ceremony and hands back the diploma. On the morning of graduation day Kyra notices Cheyenne is acting a little funny. She figures out Cheyenne's in labor but promises not to say anything because Cheyenne is intent on getting her diploma in person. At the ceremony, just as Reba figures out what's going on, Cheyenne is about to walk across the stage. Suddenly the contractions get to be too much so Van carries her
After hearing Brock admit he made a mistake, Reba gets upset and confused at the same time. She yells at Brock telling him that these outbursts of his feelings is what gets him in trouble and hurts the people around him. She tells him he doesn't think before he speaks. Brock wants to explain himself but Reba wants to hear and also doesn't want to hear it. BJ bursts in and tells them she is not going to let the two of them decide her life. She argues with Reba on who is going to leave Brock first. Kyra tells Van & Cheyenne that BJ caught Brock and Reba in bed. Cheyenne tells Reba that they shouldn't get back together cause Reba has become such a strong person and she is so much happier since she had divorced from Brock. Reba goes back to tell Brock that it wouldn't be smart for the two of them to get back together even though Brock didn't want that anyways. After Brock moves back into the condo, Barbara Jean dresses up like she is going out having a blast moving on. Reba's intuition tells her that Kyra was cancelling their mother-daughter dinner dates because she was stuck babysitting Henry. But it turns out Brock has Henry and BJ is just acting. Reba tells Kyra to come home, but Kyra says she needs to stay with Barbara Jean to help her get through the seperation.
Reba notices that BJ has been spending too much time moping around the house so she talks her into going out to the bars again and living it up. Barbara Jean not wanting to go alone talks Reba into joining her. She insists that they must follow ""The Two Girl Theory"" and go as a pair cause one woman going alone looks desperate but two women look like they're going out for the fun. Van talks to Jake about the birds and the bees.
Van reaching the next season's negotiations realizes he won't get the amount he wants nor deserves if he doesn't hire a agent. He ends up finding the best but she would like to do an evaluation of his family before she decides to take him on. At her arrival the Hart clan unravels and makes a fool out of Van in front of the agent. Reba missing her friendship with Lori Ann decides to ask the agent to hang out with her as a friend not knowing that Van had lied and told this lesbian agent that Reba is gay. Reba not wanting to hurt Van's chance of a getting this great agent goes along with the lie but later confesses, but all ends in a great new friendship.
Van comes home late after having a few drinks with his buddies and is feeling a little frisky, but climbs into the wrong bed. Reba wakes and says she has a headache. The next morning he says that his friends are happy for what he has accomplished on their football team and that's why they took him out to celebrate. Reba, Cheyenne and BJ all decide to give him a surprise party to show him that they are proud of him too. Reba gets satellite hooked up, BJ makes a cake, and Cheyenne prepares a speech. After the speech Van blurts out that he has been traded to Denver and Cheyenne freaks out. Brock chases after Van and Reba goes after Cheyenne. Kyra tries to talk sense into Brock and BJ. She says they can't keep arguing. So they start to talk civilly to each other. Reba says the same thing that Kyra says to Van about moving away and leaving his family for football. Van and Cheyenne try to talk things out but Van walks away saying that he has to do this...
Brock is becoming lonely in the condo all by himself so he begins to hang around Reba's house more often sometimes with Reba not even knowing. Cheyenne is also becoming lonely with Van being gone almost a week up in Denver. Reba and Brock try to tell her that Van is probably just as upset in Denver without her there only to find out when Van comes home that he is having a blast and has made tons of friends. Brock and BJ begin going to therapy with Dr. Baker(Patrick Duffy) where they realize that Reba is one of the main problems in their relationship. Dr. Baker asks to speak with Reba where he confronts Reba and Brock and asks if they still have feelings for each other. They both contemplate the question before BJ walks in and interupts before they can answer.
Reba encourages Brock to follow his heart if that means pursuing his dream of playing professional golf, but Barbra Jean is less-than-thrilled with Reba's advice, worrying that it will mean the end of her marriage. Meanwhile, Cheyenne tries to assuage Van's hysteria that playing arena football in Denver is costing him precious time with his daughter, who, unbeknownst to her father, recently started pre-school.
Already concerned about Van living part-time in Denver, Cheyenne is fit to be tied when she learns that Van lied about having to return to Denver early cause he couldn't take anymore of Cheyenne's family events. Meanwhile, an overjoyed Reba is faced with a difficult predicament when Kyra contemplates moving back home, a situation that may result in more damage to Kyra's relationship with her father, Brock.
Reba and Barbra Jean clash over who is going to host Thanksgiving dinner. However, a compromise is reached when Barbra Jean offers to share cooking duties, while allowing Reba to keep the celebration at her house as usual. Unfortunately, the plan leads to hurt feelings when Barbra Jean confesses she still feels like an outsider compared to Reba, who is always at the center of the family's attention
Against Barbra Jean's atypical ""better"" judgment, Reba allows Kyra to spend time with her boyfriend, Chip, without adult supervision, but she is forced to question her decision after Jake confesses that Kyra and Chip broke house rules, spending time upstairs in Kyra's room. Meanwhile, Cheyenne accompanies Van to Denver for the first time expecting to find his new apartment in complete disarray. However, much to her disappointment, Van's apartment is in immaculate condition and he is clearly relishing in his newfound independence.
Van comes home from Denver with an butt injury. After much joking by the family, Van retreats to his room with his donut ring. Reba and Cheyenne go to the doctor with Van to take X-rays. The doctor tells Van that his injury is fine but he has a rare spine disease that most sports players develop but it also permantly restricts them from playing. Van freaks out because football is all he has ever known. He is relieved though when Denver gives him the buy out check for a hundred grand. Not knowing what to do career wise he starts spending the money recklessly by buying everyone in the family nice presents. Reba confronts him about why the sudden change of heart. Van tells her that he misses feeling like the hero he was playing pro football. Reba wants to put a stop to it but Van buys her the best present of all and suddenly Reba forgets what she why she came to counsel Van.
Van is bored by not working and decides to make up for lost time by playing every other sport. He doesn't want to care for Elizabeth while Cheyenne is in school so he hires a nanny. Cheyenne is streching herself to the limit with school because she thinks she has to be the breadwinner now. BJ is lonely and has a talk with Reba asking her to ask Brock to move back in. Reba laughs and suggests getting a dog. Brock in the meantime comes to Reba also and asks to see if BJ is ready for him to come back. BJ has a surprise for Reba and Brock which was not the surprise either of them were expecting...a little ""Brock"". The nanny is working out just fine for Van by cleaning everything and teaching him and Jake spanish, but it's not sitting well for Reba. The nanny doesn't believe she is ""working for Reba.""
BJ confesses to Reba that she's attracted to her new marriage therapist. Reba tells her to go talk to him about it. Van and Cheyenne convince Reba to go with BJ to talk to Dr. Morgan so nothing happens. BJ gets all giddy while talking to Dr. Morgan and tells him she's attracted to him. Dr. Morgan explains why she's attracted to him and then transfers her and Brock to another therapist. Meanwhile Reba is very attracted to Dr. Morgan also and she asks him out. Cheyenne and Van find out that Reba is going out with Dr. Morgan and tells her to tell BJ because she is unaware of their date. After much discussion Reba finally goes out on a interesting date with Dr. Morgan...
When Reba decides to pursue a career in real estate after losing her current job, Brock reluctantly agrees to let Reba handle the sale of his precious condo. Unfortunately, the situation gets a little sticky when Reba receives a great offer, but Brock refuses to sell, validating Barbra Jean's concern that Brock is holding on to his bachelor pad as a security blanket. Meanwhile, Van begrudgingly chaperones Kyra so she can perform with her band at a club, but Van quickly changes his tune when he sees real talent in Kyra and offers to manage the band.
Cheyenne who is feeling strain on her marriage with Van decides to setup a play date for Elizabeth not knowing that the father of this play date believes this new play date means something more. Upon receipt of flowers who Reba and BJ believe are from this father tell her to send flowers back with a note saying this relationship is over. The father returns the flowers but they end up in Van's hands where he reads the note believing the flowers and note are for him. Meanwhile, Van's addiction of on line poker attracts and hooks Reba who ends up talking with a man in the chat room who she is beating badly. They both end up really interested in each other until Reba finds out this man lives across the street and is someone she knows...Brock!
While being watched by Reba, Barbara Jean's new dog ""Broq"" goes missing from the backyard. Heartbroken, Barbara Jean goes to a psychic who foolishly tells her that one of her own family members is to blame. A mystery story line with hilarious flashback occurs leading to the true demise of Brock the dog.
Jake enters Reba in a school fundraiser - ""Pageant of the Grandmas"" knowing that she is hot and will win. When Barbara Jean hears about it, she wants to enter too. Reba lets her and drops out, only to find that Jake really wanted her to be in it. She decides that she will compete -- against Barbara Jean. With some coaching and glamour prepping from Cheyenne and Van, Reba is ready. As the pageant is about to begin the teacher tells the two grandmothers that only one grandma Hart can enter...leaving the two to decide who will compete.
Reba persuing her career in real estate, scores an interview with the biggest real estate agent in Houston- Dolly Majors. As Barbara Jean helps her prepare, Dolly makes a surprise apperance at Reba's house to test her abilities. Reba's selling ability gets her the job only to found out she might not be the shark-like seller that Dolly is looking for.
Kyra, growing up so fast, gets her drivers license. This new level of life for Kyra leads to a discussion of how freeing that is by Cheyenne, who now feels like a caged bird. Reba gives Kyra a cell phone, but the phone also serves as a tracking device so Reba can see where she's at. Wise Kyra is on to Reba, so she trades phones with Cheyenne, leading to Reba and BJ catching Cheyenne on a secret trip to a Karaoke bar. Reba convinces Cheyenne that she should share her feelings with Van. All is well as they go to leave the bar but not without a special duet between Reba and BJ.
Brock not spending enough time with Jake decides to coach a football team on which Jake will try out for. After the first practice, Brock tells the others how pathetic Jake was, not knowing how great of a time Jake had. Reba decides that they will improve his skills by getting Van to train him. Van, being emotional, doesn't want to because of memories of him with his dad. Barbra Jean, having played football as a girl and later coaching a woman's prison team, decides to coach Jake with Reba's help. When Jake finds out that he might be cut, he doesn't think Brock will still love him. Van finally agrees to help out and Jake makes the team - but not for long as he's banned for being too aggressive!
Reba working in her new Real Estate field decides she needs an assistant. Since Van is not working at the moment she decides that hiring him would not only help her but also the family. Van's unprofessional attitude frustrates Reba leading to Van being fired but Reba comes to term and rehires Van cause she believes she may have been too professional and Van's way of thinking leads her to a sale of a home. Reba, inspecting Van's collection of business wardrobe, finds a bottle of booze in the closet. Van, knowing it is not his, lies to Reba and says it is. Cheyenne comes in where Van confronts her on the bottle...
Reba, not only being a mother-in-law but also a boss suggests that Van stops his drinking and go to an AA meeting. Van is furious and demands that Cheyenne tell her parents the truth. Cheyenne decides she will get help and goes to a AA meeting where she comes back excited that she is a alcoholic, blurting out her news to the rest of the family. Reba as the supportive mother decides no one will drink to help Cheyenne. Meanwhile, Kyra and her band are invited to perform at a USO event for soldiers leaving for Iraq. As the family secretly sneaks wine and beer around, Cheyenne is promoting her growth as a non-alcoholic and frowns upon her "using days". Reba later catches Cheyenne having a glass of wine and questions her on it. Cheyenne reveals that her life has been hell for the past year and alcohol is the only thing that has been helping her and she is scared and doesn't know what to do. Reba tells her that she is not alone and we end with a tearful hug.
Struggling to remain sober, Cheyenne starts taking pills that will make her violently ill if she drinks alcohol. When Reba throws a party for her real estate clients, Van and Cheyenne go to great lengths to try and stop Reba from drinking after she accidentally takes one of Cheyenne's pills, thinking it's a vitamin. Meanwhile, ex-smokers Brock and Barbra Jean lecture Kyra and Jake on the dangers of smoking, but that doesn't stop Brock from secretly lighting up.
Barbra Jean takes it upon herself to find the perfect man for Reba by signing her up at an online dating service, but she later regrets her decision when Reba begins dating a mystery man and doesn't have as much time for the her or the family. As a result, Cheyenne and Van realize how much work it takes to care for their daughter without Reba's help, and Barbra Jean and Brock, who wants to make sure he's better looking than Reba's new boyfriend, decide to check out their competition.
After watching her fiercest competitor make a killing in the real estate market, Reba decides it's time to start investing. However, she can't do it alone with her bad credit, so Cheyenne suggests that Reba and Van team up. Later, when Reba finds out that Van went behind her back and purchased a home "as is," without any inspections, she wants out of the partnership. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean is feeling neglected by Brock and finds companionship from an unlikely source - the operator from her car's navigation system.
The Hart family becomes concerned when Van continuosly sits at home watching football instead of attending church. After many failed attempts in talking him into going, Reba and Barbra Jean confront him on his refusal. Van confesses that he no longer believes in God, greatly disappointing Reba and Barbra Jean. To try and bring Van to God, they drag him to Reverend Parks who tells Reba and Barbra Jean that he can't help the people who don't want help. Reba in a heated discussion finally admits to the Reverend that she too has had her doubts.
When Reba and Jake take in a stray dog that survived Hurricane Katrina, Van and Cheyenne invite the owners to stay at the house until they can get back on their feet. However, the Harts are in for a big surprise when it turns out there are 18 people in the displaced family. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean heads up the "Save the Dog" campaign and turns her house into a shelter for lost pets, leaving dog-hating Brock more than annoyed.
Reba is beyond disappointed when her plans for a fright-filled Halloween fall through because everyone in the family has other plans. Meanwhile, Van's green-eyed monster comes out when Cheyenne starts spending an inordinate amount of time with her handsome sponsor, Frank
Realizing that his wife, Barbra Jean (who was pregnant in real life at the time this episode was taped), has taken up eating as a hobby and gained quite a bit of weight as a result, Brock consults Reba on how best to handle the delicate situation. Ultimately, Cheyenne is the one who confronts Barbra Jean about her food addiction, suggesting that she and Reba go on a diet with her.
When Cheyenne declines Brock's offer to intern at his dental office, the family finds out she no longer wants to become a dentist. Instead she plans to devote her life to helping people. Reba, Van and Brock are upset by this and visit the senior center where Cheynne has been volunteering and discover that she's been "helping" by giving the women makeovers. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean's attempt to get picked for jury duty backfires after she annoys the judge.
After a miscommunication sends Barbra Jean (who does not appear in the episode) to her brother Buzzard's house in Lubbock for Thanksgiving, Buzzard mistakenly ends up on Reba's doorstep for the holiday. The family soon realizes they may have traded crazy Barbra Jean for her even crazier brother, who believes that Reba has been sending him love letters signed "Peaches" and that Brock is "the dirtbag who's trying to take my sister to hell with him."
After observing their constant bickering in the real estate office, Reba and Van's boss insists they see the company's occupational therapist to work things out. Meanwhile, Brock and Barbra Jean consult a sleep doctor who suggests they videotape themselves in bed to find out why Brock is waking up exhausted and achy every morning.
When Brock decides to camp out at Reba's house while Barbra Jean is away in St. Louis, Reba gets fed up and tries to kick him out. However, Brock is diagnosed with kidney stones and doesn't want to be left alone, so Reba ends up caring for him. Meanwhile, Cheyenne volunteers at a homeless shelter, but is disappointed when she is assigned the unglamorous task of doing dishes in the kitchen.
Reba doesn't approve of Barbra Jean's method of disciplining Henry. However, when Jake lies and blames Henry for breaking Reba's lamp, Reba is forced to apologize for criticizing Barbra Jean's parenting skills. Meanwhile, Brock and Van are mistaken for a gay couple when they spend their "guy time" at a day spa.
After Brock and Barbra Jean get audited, Brock informs Reba that the IRS is going to audit the last five years of their marriage. Later, Brock makes Reba nervous when she discovers that he has a few secrets he doesn't want the IRS to find out about. Meanwhile, Cheyenne makes Van take part in her sociology project about a man's perspective on marriage, but she certainly wasn't anticipating all the attention he would receive from the women in her class.
In the wake of Barbra Jean spilling the beans to the IRS that Reba and Brock owe $75,000 in back taxes, an embarrassed Brock decides the only way he can pay off the debt is by selling his house and moving to Las Vegas. When Van hears the news, he aims to become Brock's broker and a devastated Barbra Jean tries to change Brock's mind.
When Reba learns that Van is in charge of the family budget and has Cheyenne documenting all her purchases in an expense journal, she advises him to treat Cheyenne more as an equal. Unfortunately, Van decides the best solution is to start giving Cheyenne a weekly allowance for her household duties, which obviously doesn't sit well with his wife. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean discovers that Jake has started a lucrative business selling soda - against school policy - to his classmates.
Dr. Jack Morgan moves back to town and tries to rekindle his relationship with Reba, However, Jack reveals to a shocked Reba that he is technically still married. Reaching the startling conclusion that she has unknowingly become the "Barbra Jean" in her relationship, Reba goes to an unlikely source for advice - Brock.
In an effort to save Brock and Barbra Jean from losing their home, Reba and Van buy their house and rent it out to them. Barbra Jean doesn't like the idea of Reba being her landlady, so when she sprains her ankle in the house, she decides to file a lawsuit against Reba.
After the family makes fun of Reba's poor eyesight, she secretly gets laser eye surgery, which leaves her temporarily blind. Barbra Jean insists on helping Reba post-surgery while the rest of the family is away. Later, thinking she is talking to Cheynne, Reba badmouths Barbra Jean, only to find out she's been talking to Barbra Jean the whole time. Overwhelmed with guilt for the hurtful things she said, and with Brock's help, Reba finally tells Barbra Jean how thankful she is for their friendship.
Reba is worried when she and Brock must attend an anger management therapy session that was mandated by the court during their divorce. Cheyenne and Van are required to be present as well, and Reba fears things have gone from bad to worse when everyone starts arguing in front of the therapist. Later, Barbra Jean crashes the session and the five adults end up telling the therapist about the crazy things they have done to each other over the years.
When Barbra Jean takes up selling insurance, she wants Reba to be her first client. After Reba's physical shows that she has high blood pressure, she finds out she's at risk to lose her old insurance policy. Meanwhile, Van seeks out Brock's advice in coming up with a unique anniversary present for Cheyenne.
Cheyenne gets overwhelmed planning her second wedding to Van when Reba and Barbra Jean won't stop putting their two cents in. Later, Van and Cheyenne have an argument and decide to call off the ceremony, leaving Brock and Barbra Jean with the opportunity to renew their own vows.
After collapsing at Van and Cheyenne's non-wedding, Reba is rushed to the hospital. The family is panicked about her health, but she only wants to focus on helping Van and Cheyenne resolve their relationship troubles. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean tries to help Reba feel better, but only makes Reba's blood pressure continue to climb.
After Barbra Jean's successful weight loss, Reba becomes worried that she'll soon become the chubby friend and starts to eat healthy. Meanwhile, Brock is becoming suspicious that Barbra Jean maybe having an affair with her trainer, Jordan, leading him to ask Reba to check out what is really happening at the gym.
The biggest real estate company in town has called and Reba convinces Van to place his loyalty aside and come with her to see what their intentions are only to find out they just want Van and not her. Meanwhile, Brock is worried that Barbra Jean's new look is going to make her look elsewhere so he goes through some interesting changes to impress her.
After Van declines the offer from Norris, he decides to build an office in the Hart's garage for him and Reba to work from. Reba questioning his decision finds out that Cheyenne is pregnant again but was told not to let Cheyenne know he told her. Meanwhile, with only 10 months to college, Kyra decides to move back in with Reba. Reba gets Cheyenne to confess only to also learn that they plan on moving out. Reba is torn emotionally with the return of Kyra and the probable move of Van and Cheyenne.
Reba and a pregnant Cheyenne realize that Kyra had too much freedom at Brock and Barbra Jean's. Meanwhile, Jake finds himself accidentally trying out for the wheelchair basketball team and pretends to be handicap to become their star player.
After constant persuasion, Van accepts the job from Steve Norris. Reba supports his decision to move to a bigger Real Estate firm but refuses to let Van take their client list leading to the ultimate Real Estate battle. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean pursues one of her dreams of becoming a TV News Weather Woman.
In order to keep her unborn baby from ending up like Kyra, Cheyenne tries to redeem good karma by giving back Kyra's 5th birthday party that Cheyenne destroyed years ago. Meanwhile, Cheyenne is driving Van crazy with a 20 page list of things to do before the baby arrives. Reba, as always, is caught in the middle with the challenge of fixing all the family problems.
Brock wants to bring the spark back to his marriage, but he doesn't know what to do so he goes to Reba for advice. Meanwhile, Cheyenne's pregnancy sends her hormones crazy and Kyra films Van's goofiness for You Tube.
Barbra Jean who is training an up and coming weather woman from Oklahoma (Kelly) fears she will soon take her job. At first Reba adores Kelly but when she realizes Kelly is just like Barbra Jean in every way, Reba comes to see that perhaps she hasn't forgiven Barbara Jean like she thought. Meanwhile, finding out they're having a boy, Van and Cheyenne have to find a way to break the promise Cheyenne made when she was younger to name her first son - Brock. In the episode's final scene, Brock, Cheyenne and Van perform a spoof of the three "American Idol" judges.
Reba is ordered to relax in order to bring her blood pressure back down, but that is impossible with Brock living in the garage to avoid fighting with Barbara Jean. His constant lies lead Barbara Jean to believe he's out of town and Reba argues for him to just be honest with his wife; the tension between them reaches an all time high leading them to file for divorce. Meanwhile, Van sees his father in himself as he gets fired for his temperament while coaching Jake's lousy soccer team with Jake being the worse player.
Reba finds Van & Cheyenne their perfect house and when trying to make the deal with the owner realizes it is Cheyenne's enemy from high school. Meanwhile, Brock and Barbra Jean get all dolled up to have a divorce date.
Reba and Brock are shocked when Kyra tells them that she is postponing college to go on tour with her band. Unfortunately, when Reba puts her foot down and tells Kyra that she won't allow her to make this huge mistake, Kyra decides to move out. Meanwhile, Cheyenne and Van can't agree on how to decorate their new house.
While Van and Cheyenne settle into their new home, they realize they have their own "Barbra Jean" who constantly comes over unannounced and uninvited - Reba. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean uses her divorce process with Brock to dramatize at her new news-weatherwoman job as Stormy Clearweather on the newscasts to bring in new fans.
When Van's poor home improvements skills causes a small fire in their home, Reba allows them to stay at her house until they get everything back in order. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean turns down an out of state job promotion to make it work with Brock. With everyone at a happy state in their life; they all realize they had a crazy six years but they made it through because "They're Survivors". This Series Finale of Reba concludes 125 episodes and 6 years of crazy commotion and love.
