  • S02E01 Shattered Pipe Dreams

    When a simple washer and dryer installation goes horribly wrong, Dawn and Glenn, are left with pipes that back up and leak all over their first floor living space. Not only did the contractor do a number on the plumbing system, he also left a flue pipe unattached to the wall, causing a Carbon Monoxide leak. As work begins, more problems start to surface, literally. John DiSilvia discovers a major ant infestation living behind their walls and in their ceiling and a roof that can't drain properly. JD and his team get to work, sealing the carbon monoxide leak, fixing the downstairs living space that has flooded so many times and creating a new utility room and private space for Dawn and Glenn to do their laundry, the issue that started the mess in the first place.

It's going to take some serious work to give this grandmother the update to the home her husband built thirty years ago.

Working with his plumber, John DeSilvia realizes just how deep the issues ran for this house, and the family is probably lucky the last contractor disappeared before he could make things worse.

    On this special episode of Rescue My Renovation, host John DeSilvia travels to scenic Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to lend a helping hand to Chris Grundy on Blog Cabin. So far, Grundy has totally overhauled the frame of the 1970s cabin, but now, he needs a little help with the library and Johnny D is coming to the rescue. JD plans to start by installing a double-sided fireplace and a curved wall to accent the entrance to the master bedroom. From there, it's on to wall-to-wall built-in bookshelves and a custom butcher's block worktable. It's going to be a beautiful library, but there's a lot of work to be done!
