Miroslav Donutil cestuje po největším krétském ostrově a poznává specifika její kuchyně. Nejde ale jen o poznávání kulinářských specialit a jejich přípravu. Poznáváme přitom také zvyky místních obyvatel a způsob jejich života. Jídlo je součástí určité kultury, má souvislosti historické i sociální. Svoji stopu na Krétě zanechali i ti, kdo tady v průběhu dějin vládli. Tedy i Benátčané a Turci.
