Córtex Frontal é um projeto cultural multidisciplinar criado em 2016 em Arraiolos, Alentejo (Portugal), por Mercedes Vidal-Abarca e Nuno Félix da Costa.
Espaço de residências artísticas, oficinas e exposições, Córtex Frontal é também um lugar de promoção do encontro entre artistas e a comunidade local, onde cada artista que aí é recebido é desafiado a oferecer algo aos residentes e às instituições de Arraiolos.
Essencial à criação artística, o tempo é talvez o que de mais valioso tem o Alentejo, nas palavras de Mercedes Vidal-Abarca, para quem a candidatura de Évora a Capital Europeia da Cultura é já em si uma oportunidade para que instituições e agentes culturais se conheçam e para serem lançados os alicerces de uma rede de criação e programação cultural vital para o Alentejo.

Córtex Frontal is a space for artist residencies, workshops and exhibitions, and a place to promote the encounter between artists and the local community, where each artist is challenged to offer something to the people and the institutions of Arraiolos.
Time is essential for artistic creation; it is probably the most valuable thing in the Alentejo, in the words of Mercedes Vidal-Abarca, for whom Évora's candidacy to become the European Capital of Culture is in itself an opportunity for cultural institutions and agents to get to know each other and to lay the foundations for a network of creation and cultural programming, which is critical to the Alentejo.
