الأستاذ أنيس، يخرج على المعاش بعد عمر طويل من العمل بمصلحة السكة الحديد، وفجأة يجد نفسه وحيدًا بين جدران منزله، يرفض هذا الواقع ويقرر تكوين حياة ومجتمع جديد، فيحوّل منزله إلى بنسيون ليس بغرض الكسب المادي أكثر منه بغرض الاستئناس بالبشر وقتل الوحدة والملل.
