  • S01E28 Filling In a Transom

    In part 2 of the 1978 Stamos Outdrive to outboard conversion process, the transom will now be filled in after the old outdrive boot left a gaping hole to be dealt with. A plywood core is made with fiberglass to be used as coring material.

    In Part 3 of the Stamos engine conversion, John is going to install a plug that was made to fill in the transom where a gaping hole was made when the outdrive engine was removed. In this show, John will show you the different types of fiberglass that will be used, as well as the epoxy resin, when he demonstrates a fiberglass lay up.

    After John’s project boat flipped on the highway, it loosened the gunwale cap. Now John has to repair that and after he is done sealing the repair with some 3M and trough bolts, it will be time to install some new rub rail!

  • S01E32 Installing Transom Plate/Blister Repair

    On the Pursuit project boat, John and Nick need to repair a transom by removing blisters, and filling in any holes and cracks.. They need to finish this before they can move on to the meat of the show… installing a transom plate; which will increase the strength of the transom in order to add an additional engine eventually.

    After installing a custom transom plate to the back of a project boat, John and Nick decide to look into installing some trim tabs. A great deal of time is spent on the proper measuring and placement of these actuating trim tabs… proper mounting is crucial here. Then, for a sporty look, John does a step by step instruction on how to give a boat a boot stripe.

    After installing a brand new Fuel tank on a project, it is now time to get into fuel fill hose and vent hose. John will install these new hose and totally revamp the fuel system from the tank back to the engines. Then they will switch gears and install an isolated 3 battery system.

He then switches gears and discusses the art of creating non-skid for a deck.
