Silvía Nótt builds on the idea of the ignorant interviewer (cf. Ali G. and Johnny Naz) who is considered stupid and uses Socratic irony to highlight weaknesses in the interviewee's position. What characterizes Silvía Nótt, however, is a rather limited egocentricity, as the subject of the satire is the Icelandic star system and the media. The interviewee thus becomes a kind of prop in a show that revolves around the host himself, rather than his position or work being of any importance.
