Minefield

Enterprise se neúmyslně dostane na romulanské území do minového pole. Je v pasti, když se na jejím plášti zachytí nevybuchlá mina. Reeda mina při snaze deaktivovat ji ve vesmírném prostoru připíchne k plášti Enterprise. Archer musí najít způsob, jak Reeda zachránit a zároveň uposlechnout kategorického požadavku Romulanů, aby Enterprise okamžitě odletěla.

When attempting to explore a new planet, Enterprise triggers a cloaked mine. While the crew deal with the resulting damage, it's discovered another mine is stuck to the hull. During Reed's attempt to disarm it, a spike is driven into his leg, trapping him out there. While Archer goes out on the hull to help him, the rest of the crew learn they are in a minefield belonging to the Romulan Star Empire, who demand Enterprise leave or face destruction.

El Enterprise penetra en un sistema desconocido para explorar un planeta similar a la Tierra. Antes de que la nave entre en órbita, es alcanzada por una potente explosión que abre un gran agujero en la cubierta. Otra mina se adhiere a la cubierta de la nave, y sólo el teniente Reed está en condiciones de desactivarla. Cuando está haciéndolo, se presentan los propietarios del sistema y exigen al Enterprise que abandone inmediatamente el sistema, lo que no es posible debido a lo dañado que está y a la otra mina...
