Judy entschließt sich, den Kindern in Zukunft alles zu erlauben, da sie es satt hat, die einzig strenge Person im Haus zu sein. Doch ihre Wandlung hat katastrophale Folgen. Judy hat es satt, immer die Böse zu sein, die den Kindern alles verbietet, während Bill ihnen alles erlaubt. Ein Rollentausch zwischen Bill und ihr fruchtet auch nicht so recht. Ihr Ehemann schlägt ihr daraufhin vor, genau wie er öfters Milde walten zu lassen. Also werden die beiden zu "guten Bullen", die den Kindern bei allem völlig freie Hand lassen. Das führt jedoch schnell zu unhaltbaren Zuständen im Haus und Bill sieht ein, dass man auch mal nein sagen muss. Doch erst als Brian das Familienauto zu Schrott fährt, kommen die Eltern endgültig zur Einsicht und beschließen, wieder striktere Regeln aufzustellen...
Judy is tired of always playing bad cop and having Bill undermine her authority to the kids, so she decides to take a day off and let all hell break loose under Bill's supervision. When she realizes that Bill is actually capable to handle their kids and just isn't willing to do so, Judy decides to play good cop for good. Bill refuses to be the bad cop, because he's been the good cop since he was born. Both stubborn, they decide to stick to their roles until the first one caves in. Tina decides to get her bellybutton pierced and they agree on it. Brian wants to drive and Judy lets him. But later on she finds out Bill set her up and they both come back to their senses and put the house back together – but not right away. Let Brian be the bad cop for a while.
Judy est excédée de jouer la méchante dans l'éducation de leurs enfants alors que Bill passe toujours pour le gentil. Elle décide alors d'inverser les rôles. Bill maîtrise si bien la situation que Judy apprécie son nouveau rôle à sa juste valeur. Mais le laxisme et le chaos règne dans la demeure et Bill et Judy jouent à qui craquera le premier.
