    Strictly Come Dancing is back for a sensational sixth series. Over the next fourteen weeks, sixteen celebrities will be fighting it out to get their hands on the coveted glitterball trophy. Find out who will be slipping into their dance shoes and slapping on a few sequins with a sneak preview of the couples in the run up to the first live show next Saturday. There's also a special behind the scenes look at the making of the series and the chance to catch up with our professional dancers to discover what they get up to when they're not appearing on the show.     Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly host a Christmas spectacular as five new celebrities take up the ballroom challenge. Broadcaster Fern Britton, actress and comedienne Ronni Ancona, business secretary Vince Cable, EastEnders legend June Brown and star of stage and screen John Barrowman all compete on the dancefloor. But will their routines be Christmas crackers or Christmas turkeys? Some familiar faces from the class of Strictly 2010 will also pop in for a special festive performance.

Actress Sheila Hancock, comedian Katy Brand, JB from boyband JLS, Blue Peter's Helen Skelton, comedy performer Bobby Ball and retired footballer Fabrice Muamba all rock around the Strictly dance floor hoping to take home the Christmas Strictly trophy. Some very familiar faces from Strictly's past also join in the festive fun. Plus music legend Rod Stewart wishes everyone a Merry Christmas as he sings in this Christmas cracker.

This year Strictly goes to town with a pantomime theme as six of the most memorable celebrities from past series of Strictly compete in a one-off festive special. Len, Bruno, Craig and Darcey get into the panto spirit too - Baron Hardup, the Evil Queen, the Fairy Godmother and Buttons judge the performances. Expect the competition to be intense as past champions Chris Hollins and Louis Smith, finalists Sophie Ellis Bextor and Rachel Stevens, plus viewers favourites Russell Grant and Lisa Riley rock around the dance floor as they vie to get their hands on the Strictly trophy. All this plus the host of the show, Sir Bruce, stars in a very special performance of Winter Wonderland with the female pros. What a festive treat for all.

Their scores and opinions are just a guide, however, as at the end of the show the phone lines will open for the public to choose their favourite, with the winner announced during Friday night's Comic Relief.

Also treading the boards are This Morning’s Ruth Langsford, Holby City actor Joe McFadden, JLS’s Aston Merrygold, Paralympian Jonnie Peacock, TV chef Simon Rimmer, and Debbie McGee, whose late husband and performing partner Paul Daniels previously took to the dancefloor in 2010. This year, the `Queen of Latin’ Shirley Ballas will be replacing Len Goodman on the judges’ panel, with Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell all returning to appraise the talents of the amateur dancers and their professional partners.
