    From the grounds of the Schoenbrunn Palace, Katie Derham introduces the Vienna Philharmonic's spectacular summer-night concert. Daniel Barenboim conducts a programme on the theme of 'night', including Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, De Falla's Nights in the Gardens of Spain (with Barenboim as piano soloist), Mussorgky's Night on Bald Mountain and Johann Strauss's Thousand and One Nights. The evening ends with a generous helping of encores and a firework finale.

Franz Welser-Most conducts a programme on the theme of the sun, moon and the stars, including music by Holst, Liszt and John Williams. As ever there are Viennese musical encores by members of the Strauss family, accompanied by a dramatic fireworks display.

    Katie Derham introduces the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performing its Summer Evening Concert in the uniquely magnificent gardens of the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna. The celebrated conductor Valery Gergiev presents music by Mussorgsky, Liszt, Sibelius and Paganini, with virtuoso violin soloist Benjamin Schmid. Dancers from the Vienna State Opera Ballet illustrate colourful scenes from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition. The concert finishes in rousing fashion with music by the waltz king Johann Strauss.

    Katie Derham introduces the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performing its Summer Evening Concert in the grounds of Vienna's great baroque jewel, the Schonbrunn Palace. The celebrated Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel presents an exciting mix of orchestral showpieces by Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Ponchielli, Richard Strauss and Gimenez. Dancers from the Vienna State Opera Ballet bring Debussy's great depiction of the sea, La Mer, to life together with Mussorgsky's exotic Dance of the Persian Slaves. The concert ends with music by the Viennese waltz king Johann Strauss.

    Katie Derham introduces the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performing its Summer Evening Concert in the grounds of Vienna's Schonbrunn Palace. Lorin Maazel is the conductor at this year's open-air event which features music by the geniuses of Italian and German opera, Verdi and Wagner, marking the 200th anniversary of both composers' birth. There are overtures and arias from Aida, The Force of Destiny and Luisa Miller by Verdi, while music by Wagner includes Lohengrin, Meistersinger and Tristan and Isolde. This being Vienna however, there is an exciting encore of music by Johann Strauss.

    There's a definite Nordic theme to this year's Summer Night Concert from the stunning Schonbrunn Palace Gardens in Vienna, where Zubin Mehta takes up the baton to conduct the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert features music from two 150th anniversary composers - Carl Nielsen and Jean Sibelius. Other pieces include two much-loved works from Edvard Grieg - the Piano Concerto in A minor, featuring Austrian soloist Rudolf Buchbinder, and the Peer Gynt Suite No 1 culminating in the exhilarating Hall of the Mountain King. Plus, of course, the obligatory chance to waltz during the finale with Johann Strauss Junior's Wiener Blut.

    Katie Derham introduces this year's traditional spectacular concert from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in the gardens of Schonbrunn Palace. There's a distinctly French flavour to the evening with music from Bizet, Berlioz, Poulenc and Ravel, and a special appearance from the world-renowned French piano duo the Labeque sisters. The concert is conducted for the first time by Semyon Bychkov who, though Russian-born, is an honorary Frenchman on account of his being married to Marielle Labeque. This year's concert features such musical favourites as Ravel's exuberant Bolero and his ravishing Daphnis and Chloe. There is also a chance to dance along to the can-can from Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld plus, of course, the traditional end to the concert, Johann Strauss Junior's romantic waltz Wiener Blut.

    Katie Derham introduces the 2017 open-air concert from the magnificent gardens of the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, given by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Christoph Eschenbach. Fairy tale and myth influence all of the evening's music, with highlights from classical favourites such as Tchaikovsky's The Sleeping Beauty, Stravinsky's Firebird Suite, John Williams's Hedwig's Theme from the Harry Potter films and the Prologue to Humperdink's opera Hansel and Gretel. They are joined by American soprano Renee Fleming performing some of her favourite songs and arias, including Russalka's Song to the Moon.

    Katie Derham introduces 2018's open-air concert from the magnificent gardens of the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, given by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra led by Russian conductor Valery Gergiev. Italian music dominates the programme, with highlights from classical hits such as Rossini's William Tell overture, Mascagni's Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana and Verdi's Triumphal March from his opera Aida. They are joined by Russian superstar soprano Anna Netrebko performing some of her favourite arias, including Puccini's Vissi d'arte from Tosca and O mio babbino caro from Gianni Schicchi.

    BBC Four returns to the magnificent gardens of the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna for a concert of classical favourites from North America performed by the Vienna Philharmonic, led by the charismatic Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, including, with the dazzling virtuoso pianist Yuja Wang, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. The programme is presented by Katie Derham.

    The Vienna Philharmonic's annual Summer Night Concert takes place in Vienna's Schonbrunn Palace Gardens. Postponed from May, the 2020 show is conducted by Russian maestro Valery Gergiev and features German tenor Jonas Kaufmann. Adopting the theme of love, it features arias by Jules Massenet, Emmerich Kalman and Giacomo Puccini.

    The Vienna Philharmonic’s annual Summer Night Concert takes place in the unique ambience of the Schönbrunn Palace Gardens in Vienna. British conductor Daniel Harding makes his Summer Night Concert debut, and the concert includes a performance by Russian-German pianist Igor Levit. Broadcasting to over 80 countries worldwide, this year’s theme is ‘Fernweh’ meaning ‘Yearning for Distant Places’ and the concert features music by Bernstein, Verdi, Rachmaninov, Sibelius, Elgar, Debussy and Holst.

    The Vienna Philharmonic's annual Summer Night Concert takes place in the unique setting of the spectacular Schönbrunn Palace Gardens in Vienna. This year, Latvian conductor Andris Nelsons makes his Summer Night Concert debut, which will be broadcast to more than 80 countries worldwide. The concert includes a performance by star French cellist Gautier Capuçon of Camille Saint-Säens's First Concerto for Cello together with music by Beethoven, Lysenko, Rossini, Dvorak and Johann Strauss Jr.

    Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s traditional summer night concert from the grounds of Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna. This year the concert was conducted for the first time by Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and the soloist was Elīna Garanča, who sang three arias from Georges Bizet's Carmen, Charles Gounod's Sapho and Camille Saint-Saëns' Samson et Dalila.
