Chris is stoked because he got a Holo9, the ultimate holographic gaming system! But Chris starts to feel a twinge of guilt when he hears that a sick boy in the hospital would like to have one. It takes Superbook’s assistance to turn Chris around after he meets Abraham and Issac. Through Abraham's obedience to God, Chris learns that you should put God first above all else (even a Holo9), and everything else will work out.
In the Quantum yard, during a spirited water fight, Joy accidentally gets Gizmo's inner workings wet, and he fritzes out. Chris becomes furious with Joy, saying he'll never forgive her. Superbook intercedes and whisks the kids back to the days of Jacob and Esau. The two brothers compete over many things, but when Esau gives up his birthright and Jacob tricks his father out of a blessing, they become estranged for many years. When Jacob finally goes to Esau and his brother finds it in his heart to forgive Jacob, Chris takes the cue and forgives Joy, as well. Genesis 25:19

Chris is getting big-headed because his band has been invited to audition for an American Idol-like show called World’s Best Band. To address this issue, Superbook whisks the kids off to Jerusalem. Chris learns from Jesus that even though Jesus is famous, He was humble and served others. During the Last Supper, the gang ultimately returns home, and Chris has a major shift in his attitude towards others.
Chris is arguing with his mom, Phoebe. Superbook intervenes and, in a very special episode, takes Chris, Joy, Gizmo, AND Phoebe back in time for an encounter with Jesus’ mother Mary during the time of her son's crucifixion. Joy witnesses Sharon Myers stealing a bike and reports it to the principal. To Joy’s surprise, Principal Travis offers Sharon mercy instead of demanding justice. As Joy questions why Sharon shouldn’t be punished, Superbook transports her, Chris, and Gizmo to meet up with a prophet named Jonah. Jonah is running away from God because he doesn't think the people of Nineveh deserve God's mercy. Through Jonah's experiences, Joy realizes that mercy is a great gift to give as well as to receive.
Superbook transports Chris back to ancient Egypt. Chris, Gizmo, and Joy travel with Joseph through several trials and triumphs. In all of their journeys, Joseph continues to trust in God. Chris vows to take revenge on some teens, but Superbook whisks the trio off to meet David, who has become a great warrior and foe to an angry and jealous King Saul. Chris watches as David shows mercy to Saul. After seeing David’s act of mercy, Chris decides against vengeance, and leaves judgement to God. 1 Peter 3:9
When Chris is asked to tutor two poor students who are also class clowns, he doubts he’s the guy for the job. Superbook then whisks Chris, Joy and Gizmo away to ancient Jerusalem. They meet Nehemiah, who is mocked and threatened as he rebuilds the walls of Jerusalem. Chris learns to do the job God gives you. Nehemiah 6:3
Joy is embarrassed by video of her eating that was posted online by a girl named Barbara. Joy plans to get even by posting an embarrassing video of Barb taking a tumble during cheer leading practice. Before she can upload the video, Superbook takes the kids back in time to witness miracles performed by the prophet Elisha as he narrowly escapes harm from Syrian soldiers sent to capture him. 2 Kings 6:18
Joy hears of a little girl who was too shy to come to the amusement park. Superbook appears and sends Joy, Chris, and Gizmo to the meet Jesus as He delays going to see His friend Lazarus who was sick. By delaying, Jesus is able to perform an even greater miracle – raising him from the dead! Joy learns that God’s timing is always right. Joy, Chris and Gizmo visit the shy girl and create a series of amusement park rides even more wonderful than the real thing. John 11:44
Chris faces a challenge he never imagined when his father leaves him in charge of an important project. When he is unsure of what to do, Superbook takes the kids back to ancient Jerusalem where they meet King Solomon. There, Solomon encourages Chris to share his burdens with the Lord and to pray for wisdom. 1 Kings 3:10
When Joy is swamped by over-scheduled responsibilities and projects, Superbook takes the kids back to Babylon to meet Daniel in King Nebuchadnezzar's palace. Daniel faces certain death unless God reveals to him the meaning of the king's dream. God answers Daniel's prayer and the king richly rewards Daniel. When Joy and the kids return home, they are inspired by Daniel's example to seek God in prayer for the solution to her problem. Daniel 2:28
While a “starving” Joy is looking forward to pizza, Chris is concerned about a girl and her brother who have nothing to eat. Superbook whisks the kids to time when Jesus told the parable of the Good Samaritan. Luke 10:30
Superbook takes the kids back to the wedding of Cana. The wedding feast is nearly ruined when they run out of wine, but Jesus miraculously changes water into wine. Superbook then takes the kids to witness Jesus feeding over five thousand people by multiplying a few fish and five loaves of bread into a feast. John 6:11
Joy and Chris are late for school and get caught by the letter-of-the-law hall monitor. Chris has been late one too many times and receives an after-school detention. Chris begs for mercy but the strict Hall Monitor has no interest in giving Chris special treatment over anyone else. Superbook arrives and much to Chris' disapproval, Superbook brings the hall monitor with them on their adventure! Superbook brings them back to a time when Peter needed to learn that God doesn't have favorites. Acts 11:1
Joy is down in the dumps because she's due to have a her tonsils out. Superbook whisks the kids away to Philippi, where they encounter Paul and Silas preaching and being arrested for casting out a demon. Joy watches Paul's behavior as he and Silas sing praises to God in prison! Paul and Silas are miraculously freed from prison by an earthquake, then share the Gospel with the jailer and his family. They believe and are baptized as believers in Jesus! Joy returns home and vows to try and be joyful even in the most dire circumstances, like Paul and Silas! Acts 16:1
Chris realizes that he won't be able to attend the National Competition Finals with his Rampaging-Robots team and the robot he designed! Superbook appears and whisks the kids away to Ancient Israel where they meet King David's son, Solomon, who will build the Temple of the Lord his father designed. Chris is amazed and a little confused how King David could design and prepare such an amazing structure, only to have someone else build it.Chris learns that it is the Lord’s plan that succeeds, and that being a part of His plan is the best plan of all. After returning home, Chris accepts that while he can't attend the competition, he can still give his team the game winning plan and strategy, which they use to win the championship trophy. 1 Kings 8:13
Chris and Gizmo send Joy on a round-the-world Holo-9 Virtual tour to 'help' her with her school geography project. As Joy sees scenes of hardship, she is overwhelmed by the state of the human condition. Joy wonders how anyone can help and make a difference. In response, Superbook transports her, Chris and Gizmo back in time to meet Peter, Rhoda, Mary and other followers of Jesus, so that they may witness how the power of prayer can lead to miraculous changes. Acts 12:5
Joy and Chris go to see a Christmas pageant that Chris' dad is running lights for. Chris recognizes the church as the one his grandfather took him to. This causes him to wonder why they no longer go to church as a family. Superbook arrives to take Joy, Chris, and Gizmo back in time to watch Jesus heal three blind men. They discover that some people are too blind to see Jesus as the Messiah. John 2:11
Chris gets his big break to start on the soccer team. His excitement quickly fades when he finds out some teammates are willing to cheat to win. Even worse, they want Chris to help them! Chris is in a bad spot! Superbook whisks the kids back to meet Caleb, Joshua and the ten other spies sent out by Moses to explore the land of Canaan the Lord has promised the Israelites. Numbers 14:9
Phoebe sends Chris out shopping for a list of items that she wants him to pick up at many different specialty shops. When Chris secretly decides he knows better and can get everything in a "one-stop-shop," Superbook whisks the kids away. They spend time with Elijah in Cherith's Ravine and travel with him to Zarephath. 1 Kings 17:9
Chris' Grandma is moving out of the house she lived in for years. Her husband, Chris' Grandpa, recently passed away and the home is just too big for one person. When Chris asks about how his Grandpa used to pray, Grandma has to excuse herself and sobs in the other room. Superbook then whisks the kids away and receives a lesson from Jesus on how to pray. When Chris returns he discovers a prayer card that has fallen from Grandpa's Bible and realizes Grandpa prayed the exact same words Jesus taught to His followers in the Lord's Prayer. Chris asks his Grandma to pray together - and they begin to say The Lord's Prayer. Grandma explains the meaning of each line to Chris and tells him it is the perfect outline for ALL prayer. When Chris encounters bullies stealing money from a blind man, he is too afraid to stand up to them. Superbook whisks the kids away to Jerusalem 600 B.C.. They meet the great prophet, Jeremiah, who faces humiliation, degradation, and possible death for speaking God's message of repentance and judgment. The kids are whisked home and Chris gathers the strength, from Jeremiah's example, to stand up to the bullies as Jeremiah did in his day. 1 Corinthians 16:13
When Chris is tempted to play a violent video game that his parents have prohibited, Superbook takes him, Joy and Gizmo back in time to meet Jesus at age twelve, in the Jerusalem Temple, and then as an adult, as Satan tempted Him in the wilderness. Chris watches as Jesus fights Satan's temptations with God's Word and Chris takes a deeper interest in reading the Bible upon returning home. 1 Corinthians 10:13
A classmate embarrasses Chris by inviting students to a Bible study group. Superbook whisks the kids away to journey with Paul and Barnabas on their mission to spread the message of Jesus. They witness Paul's miracle, blinding an evil sorcerer and converting the Roman Governor to a believer in Jesus. The job becomes too much for disciple John Mark, who abandons the work and returns to Jerusalem. Paul and Barnabas continue spreading the Gospel against all manner of adversity including Paul being stoned and Barnabas and Paul separating over a disagreement. Chris takes their example to heart and when Superbook returns him to school, he, Joy, and Gizmo stand up for the boy and his Bible study group. Chris takes a small, first step, on a journey towards pronouncing the Gospel as the power to Salvation. Romans 1:17
Chris is impressed by his father’s new invention. Chris covets the device and wants to use its power to impress his friends and earn lots of money. Superbook whisks the kids away to Samaria. There they watch Philip, Peter and John teach a magician and his followers about the true power of the Holy Spirit. Later, they find Philip in the desert and witness the baptism of the Ethiopian Eunuch. Upon returning home, Chris is a changed person. He has been awed by the power of the Holy Spirit and begins his path towards baptism. Acts 8:34
Just as Joy is heading out to the waterpark, she learns that her parents are helping at the community outreach drive today. As Joy grapples with what to do, Superbook appears and whisks the kids back to ancient Egypt. The kids meet Miriam who is helping her family hide her baby brother from the Egyptians. Pharaoh has decreed that all Hebrew baby boys be thrown into the Nile River! When the family can no longer hide the baby, he is placed in a basket and sent down the Nile River. Pharaoh's daughter discovers him and decides to adopt Miriam's baby brother as her son and names him Moses. After returning home Joy realizes that God had a plan for Moses and maybe for her too! She decides to seek God to reveal that plan and chooses to help out at the community drive by beginning a more mission driven focus. Exodus 1:1-22
Chris, Joy, and Gizmo hit the slopes on a ski trip with the church youth group. Chris begins to grapple with what it really means to be a Christian. As Chris ponders this, Superbook suddenly appears to transport Chris, Joy, and Gizmo to Jerusalem at Passover time. There, they meet Nicodemus, a respected Pharisee and Jewish teacher. In the dark of night, the children follow Nicodemus, to secretly meet with Jesus and learn that everyone must be born again to see the Kingdom of God. Upon his return home, Chris takes a leap of faith to follow Jesus and become a Christian. John 3:1
Chris is excited about his upcoming baptism; so much so that he forgets to show up at Joy's volunteer event. Superbook whisks them back to meet a tax collector named Zacchaeus in ancient Jericho. The kids are amazed to watch the transformation of a sinner like Zacchaeus when he meets Jesus. Joy sees that Jesus came to seek and save the lost--including herself! Joy realizes that she also needs to accept Jesus as her Savior--just as Zacchaeus did and begins to understand why Chris is so excited about being baptized. Joy prays to receive Jesus and then shares the good news with her parents. Luke 19:10
After hearing Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, Chris and Joy can't wait to put what they've heard into practice. Comic chaos results from their over-eager and misguided attempts to put the Beatitudes into action. SUPERBOOK shows up to take them back to hear the Sermon again--and to walk beside the disciples as even they struggle to understand and live according to Jesus' teaching. Chris and Joy witness Jesus' encounter with a Roman Centurion and learn that the Kingdom of God is open to everyone who accepts the Lord and tries to follow the narrow path of Christ's footsteps. Back home, Chris displays his new understanding at a Bible study group that the first step in leading a Christian life is admitting you can't do it without God's help. Matthew 5:1
Chris and Joy are excited about their upcoming baptism. As they look through old photo albums, Chris wonders why his family never were church goers, as his grandparents were. Phoebe overhears this conversation and becomes emotional. Chris notices his mom's reaction, and wishes he could ask her about his questions. Superbook takes the kids back to meet Isaiah, a prophet who became God's mouthpiece. Chris realizes he can be God's mouthpiece with his mom. When he returns, his mother admits her heart has been stirred back toward God ever since Chris started talking about his baptism. Chris prays with his mom at the end, as the door to her heart is beginning to open to God again.
Chris and Joy were excited about their upcoming baptism, but heavy rains are ruining their plans. Superbook takes them back in time to learn what it means to become fishers of men. Superbook also snags Ellie and brings her on the journey with them. Chris and Joy see what it's like for Ellie to see Jesus for the first time and guide her to accept Him as her Savior. Back at home, the weather clears up and the baptism ceremony is back on - including Ellie! Matthew 4:19
Joy is excited to have new Christian friends and church activities to be wrapped up in. But, when one of Joy’s oldest and best friends invites her to her birthday party, Joy is unsure about going because it conflicts with a church group event. Joy doesn't know how to be the "new her" around her "old friends" who are not Christians. What if they don’t accept her? Is it okay to hang out with unsaved friends? Joy's life is shaken to its core when her mom is suddenly rushed to the hospital with a serious illness. Joy questions why God doesn't just fix her mom and wonders what good the Bible is when something so terrible is happening. Superbook whisks the kids to Rome during The Great Fire. The kids meet the Apostle Paul and a Christian girl named Julia. Paul shows the kids how Christians suffered for their faith, but found strength and hope in the scriptures. When the kids return Joy has a new perspective, which gives her the courage to share Christ's love with her mom. John 16:33
Chris has become a star on the church’s soccer team during its winning season. He now has a shot at making the regional All-Stars. During tryouts, he is verbally and physically harassed because of his Christianity, and Chris’s first reaction is to fight back. SUPERBOOK whisks the kids back to the Garden of Gethsemane where they witness Jesus’ arrest and how He heals a servant’s wound. They hear Jesus’ words of forgiveness for his enemies as He dies on the cross. A time swirl moves them forward in time to witness the trial of Stephen, and they watch helplessly as he is stoned by an angry mob. As Jesus did, Stephen forgives his enemies as he dies. Returning to the All-Star tryouts, Chris understands how he needs to respond. He asks God for the strength and wisdom to reflect Christ. Chris and Gizmo hear people say that Jesus' body was stolen by His followers. When Chris disagrees, he's arrested by Roman soldiers who have been bribed by Caiaphas to cover up the truth. Chris and Gizmo escape and are helped by the disciple Thomas. Meanwhile, Joy walks with Cleopas and his companion on the road to Emmaus. They meet a stranger who explains how the Messiah's death was foretold in Scripture. Jesus appears to His disciples and charges them to go into all the world and witness their faith. Thomas insists that he won't believe Jesus is alive unless he touches the Lord's wounds with his own hands. When Jesus appears again and Thomas finally believes, Superbook returns the kids to their own time. Chris tries witnessing again to the same local kids and experiences some encouraging results. Chris has writer's block while trying to come up with a new Christmas song for the youth group's Christmas service. He needs inspiration like writers of Christmas hymns in the past. Superbook whisks our heroes away to witness Bible stories they have experienced on previous Superbook trips like the Garden of Eden, Abraham and Sarah, Moses' birth and leading God's people from Egypt, Ruth and Boaz and David and Goliath. Finally, the kids watch as Mary is told by the Angel Gabriel that she will give birth to the Son of God. With that, Chris, Joy and Gizmo are whisked home and Chris has his inspiration for his new song - "The Promise of a Child." Genesis 3:15
Chris, Joy, Gizmo and Professor Quantum travel on a mission trip along with Pastor Aaron and the youth group. The professor is anxious to get his water purification system operational before nightfall and before a storm arrives. Chris and Joy roar off in the Gizmo-track 8000 to transport fresh water to the camp. On their way, the children encounter a young boy named Mateo. Superbook suddenly appears to whisk Joy, Chris, Gizmo and Mateo off just as a huge boulder loosens in the mud and begins to roll down the hill directly at Mateo’s house! On their adventure, the children revisit past encounters with Jonah, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They are reminded that God hears and answers prayer and has the power to rescue His people in miraculous ways. Upon their return, the children join in prayer just in time to witness a present-day miracle as the boulder narrowly misses Mateo’s house. The storm finally passes as the mission group ministers to the local people. Daniel 3:1-30
Chris wants to spend time with the heroes in the latest Holo-9 Game rather than lead a youth group Bible Study. Superbook whisks Chris and Joy away leaving behind a shocked Gizmo for the first time ever! Gizmo frantically tries to locate where Superbook has taken Chris and Joy and find a way to bring them back! Chris and Joy revisit Bible heroes Noah, as well as Joshua and Rahab, and see them in a new light alongside his Holo-9 heroes. Superbook also reminds them of other real-life Bible heroes such as Abraham, Joseph, David, Esther and Daniel. When Chris returns, he leads the Bible Study and offers a new perspective on being a real hero in God's eyes. Romans 15:2
Chris has been saving his allowance and lawn mowing money to purchase an expensive new telescope. Meanwhile, the church youth group is involved with a food drive. Chris becomes conflicted about donating money to support the food drive or sticking with his plan of buying the telescope. Superbook arrives to take Chris, Joy and Gizmo to the Jerusalem Temple. There they meet up with Jesus' disciples while He is teaching. As they watch, a widow makes a donation into the temple treasury. She gives only two mites, but it is all she has to live on. Jesus comments that the poor woman gave more than the other wealthy contributors who gave only a tiny part of their surplus. This causes Chris to rethink his attitude about tithing to his church. Once home, Chris wrestles with his decision, but finally comes to a place where, like the widow, he gladly donates all his money to the church mission.
