A con man with a taste for violence, who brought Mac and Pete together the first time, gets out of prison and tries to kill Pete by blowing up his car. While Pete lies critically ill in the hospital. the result of the attempted murder Mac's guilt feelings rise as he recalls that he pressured Pete to help him trap another con-man.
