  • S2013E01 Jake Bugg and Emeli Sande - BBC Three

    • July 12, 2013
    • BBC Three

Jake Bugg - In today's super-accelerated music scene it's gratifying when someone as talented as Jake Bugg comes along, and actually lives up to the hype. Great songs, backed up by equally good vocals - it's a delightfully raw throwback sound but with a modern sheen. He’s been playing guitar since the age of 12 and last year at the tender age of 18 made his T debut. World domination awaits! Emeli Sande - The ex-Glasgow Uni medical student from Aberdeen with the golden voice has now followed in Adele's footsteps and cracked America with her biggest single to date, Next to Me, having recently gone platinum over there. She has even sung for President Obama. An now she's back, on the Main Stage at Balado in front of Scotland's greatest festival crowd.

  • S2013E02 Mumford & Sons and Chase & Status - BBC Three

    • July 12, 2013
    • BBC Three

Mumford & Sons - The affable purveyors of epically emotional folk-tinged songs made quite a stir with their T debut back in 2010, when they fairly took the roof off Tut's. After being initially amazed at how big they hit, the band decided to fully embrace their position, and boy did it work. They can now boast a massive top selling, multi-award winning album in both the UK and US in the form of Babel. They return to T in triumph as a headliner. Chase & Status - DJ duo and production team who number some of pop's biggest acts among their fans and collaborators, including Rihanna and Jay-Z no less. As they came to their present position as chart-busting pop producers from the world of underground jungle, being right there from the start and through the rise of dubstep, it's fair to say they know a thing or two about making massive noises. Something very special happens when they let those huge synth lines loose on the vast speaker stack of the Main Stage.

  • S2013E03 David Guetta and Labrinth - BBC Three

    • July 14, 2013
    • BBC Three

Labrinth - Singer, songwriter, record producer and collaborator - is there no end to this man’s talents? He’s the only “non- X Factor contestant” to be signed to Simon Cowell's label and has won a string of awards including 'Best Single' for ‘Earthquake’ at MOBO awards in 2012. With a pedigree producing artists like Tinie Tempah, Yasmin and of course Emeli Sandé, expect collaborations in the future with Australian cult songstress Sia and Skylar Grey to be of equal success.

  • S2013E04 Rihanna and Calvin Harris - BBC Three

    • July 13, 2013
    • BBC Three

Rihanna - It's only fitting that in its 20th year, Scotland's biggest music festival should be graced by the presence of the world's biggest pop star. Her newest album, Unapologetic, sets out her stall - she doesn't care what you think. Rihanna's rise to the top of the pop pyramid has been about combining naughtiness and disarming honesty, underlined by an addictive series of huge pop royalty collaborations, with David Guetta, Will.i.am and Scotland's very own superstar DJ Calvin Harris providing suitably massive grooves to give the Main Stage sound system a healthy workout. Calvin Harris - Remind yourself just how big by watching some clips from last year's roof-raiser in the Tuts Tent. Because the big man from Dumfries just keeps on getting bigger and bigger...his legendary sets at T are fast becoming an unmissable annual event.

  • S2013E05 The Killers - BBC Three

    • July 14, 2013
    • BBC Three

When they formed in 2001, it didn’t take Las Vegas band The Killers long to establish a fan base in the UK. They even took their name from the logo of a fictitious band in the video for the New Order song, ‘Crystal’. But, according to frontman Brandon Flowers, they struggle in the US ‘because we never stick to a particular sound. Radio stations never know what we are going to give them.’ The band has been in the studio recently recording songs for their fifth album. Nominated for seven Grammy awards, they recently performed at the 90,000 capacity Wembley stadium. The crowd at T in the Park are bound to make more noise, though, when The Killers hit the stage for their fifth T appearance.

  • S2013E06 The Script and Dizzee Rascal - BBC Three

    • July 13, 2013
    • BBC Three

The Script - Lead singer Danny O'Donaghue has become a veritable household name thanks to his starring role as a judge on Saturday tea time talent show The Voice. That popularity has translated itself into a massive following for The Script. Recent number one hit single Hall Of Fame was unharmed by the presence of fellow Voice judge will.i.am. Their recent arena tour sold out in nanoseconds. However, the band would be nothing without great pop songwriting, and there is no doubt they have that in spades. Dizzee Rascal - A decade on from winning the prestigious Mercury prize Dizzee Rascal has become a firm T in the Park favourite. The first man of grime plays the festival for the fourth time this year and delivers his fifth studio album "The Fifth" later this summer. Dizzee himself has described it as being even more commercial than his last studio album - Tongue n Cheek - which included his four number-one hits "Dance wiv Me", "Bonkers (with Armand Van Helden), "Holiday"and "Dirtee Disco".
