Sneddon tells Drew he'll have to work if he wants to stay. Jean arrives at the Blair's in a bad mood. At Lady Margaret's insistence Sir John gives Archie two hours to fix the hot water and keep his job.
Lady Margaret tries to match make with her son Eric and Fiona. Inverdarroch has ordered a book of poems. Sheila gets her name in print in the Auchtarne Herald. Eric and Joanna announce their engagement.
Lily asks Inverdarroch about one of the poems 'The Lady In The Lake' which has saddened her. Sir John offers Eric the manager's job on the estate, and Joanna pressures him to take it.
Constable McPhee is searching for Illicit whisky in the Hall. Jean invites Sneddon's son to her room, and Isabel gets worried. Dougal is in his element getting more orders for the whisky.
Jean tries to get back in Isabel's good books. Sgt Murray asks Archie about getting a bottle of whisky. Mrs Mack sees Sir John about falling morals. Brian gives Eric and Joanna a trip on the loch.
Drew and Jean are meeting at the old Aqua Sports office. Sir John asks Dougal about the whisky. Isabel finds out Inverdarroch is the poet. Carol's dog has savaged a ewe at Inverdarroch.
The day of the poetry book launch at the Hall finishes with Inverdarroch claiming he was not the poet and storming out. Archie has called a meeting of all the whisky customers to move the still.
Inverdarroch's grandfather was the poet. He apologises to Lily. Jean's parents are staying in Canada for another two weeks. Mrs Mack claims that all the empty bottles have gone missing. Dougal shoots at the dog worrying the sheep.
Fiona talks to Mr Carradine about Eric's feudal claim over the hotel, but when Sir John hears, he apologises. Inverdarroch cures Carol's dog putting him in a pen with a ram.
Lady Margaret insinuates to Joanna that Eric made a pass at Fiona. Dougal and Co are going to move the whisky pursued by Mrs Mack and Constable McPhee, then disaster strikes.
The survey on the church bell tower says it should not be rung. Drew dives into the loch to escape from Constable McPhee and disappears. Fiona tells the Minister she has lost her faith.
Lady Margaret upsets Joanna by suggesting Eric limit has guests at the wedding. Sheila interviews Sneddon about Drew's accident. Jean finds a surprise in the Aqua Sports office.
Archie gets a sound system to replace the bells. Ruari books into Fiona's hotel with several colleagues. Effie is employed by Fiona. Carol tells Isabel she still dislikes Jean.
Eric and Joanna ask the Minister about getting married in the Kirk. Brian and Isabel discover missing food from the shop, then Brian finds Drew and Jean at the jetty. Mr Primrose fakes a fall.
Sneddon's housekeeper Mrs Russell gives in her notice. Brian and Archie set up the sound system. Sorry offers the Minister a holiday to Venice prize for the raffle.
Isabel leaves for her niece's wedding and Sheila takes over the shop and cooks Brian a meal. Eric has concerns about being married in the church. Mr Parker expresses concerns about the raffle.
Mrs Mack spreads rumours about Brian and Sheila. A mystery guest for Sir John arrives by ferry. Eric and Joanna decide to get married in London.
Lady Margaret wants Effie to cook which clashes with her work at the hotel, so Fiona asks Alice. Brian tells Isabel that he and Sheila had meals together when she was away.
Sir John's mystery guest, Mr Yahoda, wants to stay in this country, but is becoming anxious about the delay. Sorry takes over the running of the raffle upsetting Mr Parker.
Alice offers to work for Fiona full time although Bob is not in favour of the idea. Sneddon interviews a new housekeeper, Hazel, who turns up with her brother Colin.
Mrs Mack is swatting up on Venice. Alice is flattered by the attention she is getting for her cooking. Sheila wants to report on Brian's first loch cruise. Sorry gets Mr Primrose to admit his scam.
Bob and Alice argue about her job. Isabel confides to Sorry about Brian and Sheila. Lady Margaret and Mr Yahoda go for a drive and talk.
Grace gets an invitation to David's christening. Bob catches Mr Yahoda shooting in the woods and reports him to Sir John. Sorry invites Brian and Isabel to the Marina launch party - but Isabel refuses.
Hazel and Colin have made a list of things worth stealing. Sorry changes Isabel's mind about the party but Brian has invited Sheila. Archie wins the raffle and swaps prizes with Mr Murdoch.
Sneddon and Bob are still arguing about him trying to assert his authority. The fete is taking shape, everyone is busy with the preparations. Fiona tells Joanna she thinks she is spending too much time at the hotel. Isabel is upset that she doesn't have a grandchild.
Hopes and happiness, tears and traditions, drams and drama, as the folk of Glendarroch see out the Old Year and bring in the New, amidst family tensions and a police investigation. The Lachlans see in the Bells at the croft, but aren't expecting visitors, while Fiona faces a lonely New Year alone at the Ardnacraig until the locals turn up en masse to surprise her in style. Meanwhile Sir John shows off his traditional Scottish dress, Inverdarroch and Morag have an animal emergency in the barn, and old Jock makes his way back home to celebrate the New Year with his friends and neighbours.

Fiona takes her son David to the Institute of Neurological Services for an examination. David's scan shows that he has a brain tumor. Meanwhile, Lily Wentworth considers Davie Sneddon's offer and Emma asks about living at the hotel. Carol asks Lyn to give a letter to Kenny but through a mix-up, Kenny never receives it.
Jocky McDonald takes over Archie Menzies' job. Ryder comes back from his trip to London and goes to see Lily who informs him, that she has made Davie Sneddon her new farm manager. Ryder then visits Fiona, who lashes out at him, due in part to his behaviour and her concern over her son, David. Carol is still upset and angry over the mix-up with the letter. Isabel and Alun agree to have dinner so that she can give him, her reasons for not seeing him. Ryder confronts Paul about his job.
Isabel's niece Sandra comes to visit and Isabel wonders why. Joanne hires her cousin Alastair to work in the hotel and he is soon in trouble. Caroline and Greg have dinner together. Davie gets a surprise visit from Inverdarroch, who tells Davie that is he leaving for good and that Davie is welcome to stay on the farm, with his and Lily Wentworth's blessing.
Fiona arrives back home and finds she has received flowers from Greg. Greg decides to oversee the golfcourse development personally. Alastair confronts Tee Jay about the theft of five pounds. Lynne quits her job at the marina and goes to work for Sneddon. Kenny sets things straight with Alastair and the hotel. Alastair explains things to Joanne and she is not happy and makes him a kitchen hand. Dougal tells Fiona that there may be poachers in the area. Isabel tells Alun about Brian and her feelings about what has happened. Greg informs Joanne that he will be staying at the hotel. Sneddon catches Tee Jay and his latest girlfriend fooling around on his land and chases them both off. Tee Jay vows to take revenge on Sneddon.
Greg invites Sneddon to the reception at the golf course. Sneddon accuses Dougal of poaching, when he comes across Dougal looking for traps on his land. Sneddon informs Fiona that he is now the sitting tenant of Inverdarroch farm. Emma and Alastair become romantically involved with each other. Greg shows Fiona around the golf course development and after mishap they end up spending the night together. Emma tells her father about Alastair and he warns her to be careful. Isabel phones Brian and finds out that Brian's girlfriend Jenny is pregnant and that he wants a divorce.
The word spreads about Greg and Fiona spending the night together. Sneddon accuses Tee Jay about the vandalism done to his car. Greg asks Fiona to marry him. At the golf club reception, Sneddon and Dougal nearly come to blows. Sneddon leaves the reception early and returns home to find more vandalism. Greg and Fiona eventually arrive at the reception, where Greg announces to everyone that he and Fiona are getting married as soon as the arrangements can be made. This news receives a mixed reaction from the people at the reception.
Isabel expresses her doubts about the upcoming marriage between Fiona and Greg to Sheila. Alun and Isabel discuss their relationship. Alun gives a final warning to Tee Jay but Tee Jay decides to quit his job instead. Fiona and Greg continue planning their wedding and what will happen afterwards. Sneddon catches Donald Lachlan in the act of vandalising farm. Donald explains to his family and Sneddon why he has vandalising Inverdarroch farm. Sneddon tells the Lachlan family his reasons for coming back. Paul tells Sheila that he will be best man at Fiona and Greg's wedding and tells her of his doubts about Greg. Emma and Alastair discuss the future and what might happen to them. That night while Alastair is visiting Emma at her caravan, Dougal barges in on them expecting the worse.
Kenny pays an early morning visit to Lynne and is appraised of what's been happening with her and Carol. Ryder visits Morag Stewart and makes an offer for her farm which she refuses. Mrs Mack inherits some money from her brother-in-law. Fiona and Ryder both receive letters from Sneddon. Morag tells Dougal and Grace that she has no choice but to sell her farm. Isabel cancels her birthday party after receiving a phone call from Susan, telling her that she won't be able to make it Isabel's 50th birthday party. Mairi and Carol decide to organise a surprise birthday for Isabel instead. Carol finds out her insurance won't cover her personal possessions.
Lynne asks Emma to move in with her and Carol. Emma accepts the offer. Fiona finds out from Sheila that Ryder has brought Inverdarroch farm. When she confronts Ryder about this, he tells Fiona that he brought the farm as a wedding present.
Morag meets with Ryder, who offers her new alternative to her problem. Although she is suspicious of his actions, she decides to consider the offer. Mrs. Mack complains to Isabel and Mairi about the statue she got from her brother-in-law. Carol and Mairi continue, with the help of Jockie with the preparations to Isabel's surprise birthday party. Sheila gets a visit from her husband, Eddie on leave from the army. Sheila tells Eddie about Paul, whom he meets later on.
It is the day of Isabel's 50th birthday. Isabel is depressed because she thinks everybody has forgotten. Morag warns Sneddon that there might be a wild animal attacking farm animals. Sneddon invites himself to Isabel's birthday party. Isabel's party begins and she finds she has two surprise guests - Susan Duncan and Maggie Watson. Mrs. Mack gets reacquainted with Maggie. Carol teases Mrs. Mack about her statute. Eddie Ramsay does some investigating. Isabel tells Alun her reasons why she didn't tell him when her birthday was and he dismisses them immmediately.
Dougal and Gladys have a discussion about Emma and her eating habits. Dougal goes and visits Emma with disastrous consequences. Tee Jay explains to Carol why he didn't meet her last night and they make arrangements to meet again that night. Sneddon and Lynn comes across the preparations for an illegal dog fight. The town gathers at the church hall to hear about the plan Sneddon has for catching the dog fight organisers. With the help of the local scout group, they capture the dog fight organisers and other partcipants.
Greg offers Paul the management of the golf course. Tricia and Donald ask Carol and TJ to supervise at the disco. Fergus's egg has hatched. Gladys tries to talk to Emma.
Mr Murdoch is concerned for Mrs Mack and doesn't know where she has gone. Gladys wants to take private art tuition so she can improve her work. Greg isn't happy with Mrs Galbraith wanting to see more of David. Mary dies of cot death suddenly.
Everyone is devasted by the death of Mary, but it doesn't seem to have hit Carol yet. Effie and Mr Murdoch wonder if it was their fault, as they were the last ones to take her out for a walk. Gladys calls Mr Kennedy to ask for classes.
It's the funeral today. Mr Murdoch still hasn't told Mrs Mack what happened as she is away and doesn't know how to. Gordon is still trying ot get back together with Trish. Gladys goes to see Mr Kennedy with some of her art pieces.
The new policeman is trying to get people in Glendarroch to be more safety conscious. Isobel lets Gordon help her out till Carol comes back to work. Mairi isn't happy with Lynne being too busy to see her.
Carol is thinking about returning to work, and leaves the house for the first time since Mary died. Mr Murdoch tells Mrs Mack about Mary dying over the phone. Sam asks Mr Sneddon to give Gordon a job on the farm.
Gladys is trying to reconcile with Dougal and Grace as they aren't happy about her spending so much time painting. Mr Murdoch gets an unclaimed watch back that he handed into lost property some time ago, and it's very valuable.
Fergus is having trouble building up the courage to approach Sneddon. After receiving a post card from David, Fiona encourages Greg to see the doctor again and Dougal criticises Gladys' painting then gets Lynne into trouble by gossiping.
Mr Murdoch and Fergus discuss the value of the watch. Mairi expresses her concerns for Lynne to Morag. Sam has a few words for Sneddon's behaviour towards Gordon and as a result, Gordon benefits from some work experience.
Isabel doesn't think she has time to be Co Ordinator for the Neighbourhood Watch. Gladys is informed that people are starting to gossip about her art lessons and Mr Murdoch finds out who his watch belongs to, thanks to Sneddon.
Sam confirms that the watch is hers and offers Mr Murdoch a large sum of money so she can have it back. Greg returns from the doctors with his suspicions confirmed, while Carol can't deal with hearing about Joanna's pregnancy.
Lynne is upset by her discovery that Sneddon has been seeing Sam and returns home. Gladys decides to stay for lunch with Orr to make a point, which later escalates into an argument between Gladys and Dougal.
Carol is feeling torn between her mother and Tee Jay. Gordon has ideas to share but Fiona would rather he didn't. Meanwhile, Gladys and Orr take a day away from painting, giving Effie something to gossip about and Tee Jay has news for Carol.
Carol breaks the news to her mother about the move to Ayrshire. Gordon's step father insists on visiting his new place of work much to his embarrassment and Lynne pretends to Sneddon that she doesn't have a crush on him.
Gladys has packed her bags and finds herself going to Orr's studio. It's Gordon's birthday and Matt takes pleasure in winding him up over a birthday card from Trish. Tee Jay accepts the job and Dougal discriminates against Orr's disability.
Grace and Dougal discuss Gladys' recent behaviour. Gladys has moved in with Orr and Dougal's work is affected by recent events. Gordon has a meeting with Greg Ryder but doesn't want Matt to know and makes a decision on his future.
Donald is worried that he'll have to go with Gladys if she divorces his father. Peggy wants Morag to talk Gordon into going to uni. Orr and Emma argue about who is to blame for Gladys leaving, while Dougal creates a scene in the pub.
Dougal tries to be strong over the situation with Gladys, but isn't coping well. Lynne goes to see Sneddon to apologise. Fiona continues to disregard Gordon's ideas, while Carol thinks she's knows someone who meets the constable's requirements.
Dougal refuses to go to work as he can't deal with Gladys leaving. Morag offers him some support while Emma worries about Mrs Lachlan being around the situation constantly so Morag talks Gladys into seeing him.
Dougal's note has caused a huge worry in the Lachlan household. Fortunately, Gladys finds him before he carries out his intentions. The constable does some investigating into Sheila's past with Effie and Effie doesn't hold back on information.
Since Gladys is back home, Dougal wants to build her a studio for her to continue with artwork. The constable catches McDonald acting suspicious around a car and warns him off and Isabel and Alun bring the constable and Sheila together.
Gary asks Trish to cover for him skipping school. She agrees despite not knowing what he's up to with the dog. Gladys has the idea of a holiday to get away from Glendarroch and Mr Murdoch is concerned about the minister leaving for 3 months.
Gladys, Dougal and Donald set off on holiday. Gladys is unsure whether she still has feelings for him or not and Dougal figures out she wants distance from Orr. Gladys' arrangement with Fiona isn't entirely honest and Jockie is suspicious of Gary.
Fiona decides that she will have to sack Dougal and offer Sneddon his job. Mr Murdoch convinces Gary that the best thing to do about the dog is to inform the police and Carol moves back in with her mother, which brings back memories for her.
Mrs Lachlan opens Dougal's letter from Fiona. Gary is disappointed that the owner of the dog has been found. Gordon is due back in the village but Sheila is so wrapped up in Mark that she's forgotten and Sheila's had enough of the constable.
The new minister explains to Mrs Mack why he arrived at the manse so late while Gordon wants an explanation from Trish. Trish is surprised about what Margo is up to and Sam passes on to Sneddon what she overhears at the office.
Morag encourages Gordon to not give up on Trish. Complaints about Sneddon being the new gamekeeper continue to come in but Fiona has someone else in mind to get rid of him and Sam has plans for Sneddon.
News that Inverdarroch has returned to Glendarroch is getting round and now wishes to be known as Tom Kerr. Trish's meeting with the minister ends in her agreeing to sing in church and the constable sets his sights on someone new.
It's the day of Trish's first time singing in church and the first service from the new minister. The constable and Emma go on their walk around Glendarroch and Fiona is worried about what Mrs Lachlan says before the service.
Trish's parents want to meet Mark so invite him round for dinner. Dougal doesn't want to return to Glendarroch and wants Mrs Lachlan to go live in Yorkshire and Fiona goes to the Croft to explain what really happened with Dougal.
Dougal insists that the Lachlans now belong in Yorkshire, including Emma who doesn't want to go. Sneddon offers Lynne a job, which Mairi isn't happy about and Trish thinks Mark cares more about animals than her.
Mrs Lachlan decides to go to Yorkshire and begins packing. Lynne accepts the offer of the job from Sneddon and Isabel has an idea about raising money for the minister to take back to Zimbabwe.
Gordon didn't tell Morag about the meal Tom planned at the hotel, which Tom thinks was deliberate. Sam overhears Lynne talking to Sneddon about the poison pen letters and later brings the subject up with Sneddon.
Lynne is fed up of being given a hard time from her mother about Sneddon and now Morag is giving her warnings. Trish wants to put on a village concert to raise money for the minister and Mark tries to influence her idea.
Mrs Lachlan reminices about the past before she leaves. Sneddon warns Lynne to not make Sam an enemy and Eric is worried about Joanna's headaches so gets the doctor to go to her.
While Emma is getting ready in a surprise outfit for the constable, Mrs Lachlan walks in unannounced. Mrs Lachlan has decided to stay in Glendarroch and blames Gladys for the separation. Carol has decided she'll move to Ayr to be with Tee Jay.
Carol's mum isn't happy about her leaving and tries to get Sheila to ask her to stay. Mrs McTaggart tells Mrs Lachlan and Mrs Anderson about a psychic and Joanna takes an interest. Mark is angered by Sneddon's intentions to drown a foxes cubs.
Mrs Mack strongly disagrees with the psychic night at the hotel and wants it stopped. Fiona and Greg are still receiving phone calls so Fiona reports them and Lynne tells Sneddon what happened with Mr Clark.
Word circulates about the gunshot and Lynne being injured. Sneddon thinks it was Mr Clark who was the one who shot her. The minister agrees with Mrs Mack and Mr Murdoch's opinions on the Tarot Night and Greg has his suspicions about Tom Kerr.
After Sneddon finds Trish's name on the note left at the house, he goes straight to the McDonals home. Jockie thinks Mark is involved but Trish is adamant he's not. The tarot card reader arrives and feels she should read Fiona, who refuses.
The tarot reading evening is proving a success and Joanna tries to convince Fiona to have one. Sadie is feeling stressed with the amount she has to do and Gary is upset that Isabel offers Trish a job in the shop instead of him.
Jockie and Sadie search frantically for David as he has disappeared. Tom has some ideas for the land and puts them forward to Fiona. Jockie stands up to Greg Ryder when he gets angry over David, and a search party is later organised.
David has been missing all night after wandering off when Sadie and Jockie had an argument. Sam finds a reporter snooping around and offers her money for a photograph. She refuses, but Gary McDonald is happy to offer information.
The police have Jennifer Goudie, the tarot card reader help them with their enquiries, believing that people like her are evil. Fiona doesn't believe that she could help but allows her to try.
Constable Kirk calmly tries to get John Clark to hand David over until Busby rudely interupts and then takes all credit for finding him and Fiona apologises to Sadie for how she treated her when he was taken.
Sneddon is positive that someone has been in the house, but Sam isn't convinced. Sadie has had enough of Jockie's behaviour and tells him so. It's Trish's first day of work at Blair's Store and she's approached by Sneddon with a message for Mark.
Mrs Mack has changed her mind about performing at Trish's event and Mr Murdoch follows suit. Sadie gets into a panic when she accidentally takes something from the shop without paying and Mark tries to force his beliefs on Trish.
Trish is worried about her mother and lets slip that she took something from Blair's Store. Lynne thinks Sneddon is jealous that she's been seen with Ben. Trish has a think about what Mark said and Carol and Tee Jay come back for a vist.
Gordon still isn't over Trish and wants her back. Sadie disappoints Trish by backing out of performing in the concert. Mark and his team set pheasants free and Trish talks with Margo about the fur coat incident.
Trish and Jockie discuss what's going on with Sadie. Tom asks Sheila to lunch with him and she accepts. Sneddon is sure that Mark unlocked the cages, but refuses to contact the police and Effie and Emma voice that they think they deserve a pay rise.
Sadie worries Jockie more by smashing plates over the floor. Eric decides to take part in the village concert and asks Effie to be his partner. Morag encourages Gordon to report Mark about the cages and Mark gets angry at Mrs Mack buying meat.
Sneddon sets out to catch whoever released the pheasants so Lynne informs the police. Mrs Mack insists that Isable sack Trish because of Mark's recent behaviour and Eric has an idea on how to cover Joanna's position at the hotel.
Sadie believes that Fiona doesn't trust her with David. Sneddon and Lynne set out with guns to catch out Mark and his friends. Effie is delighted with her promotion, but Douglas works out what Eric and Joanna were up to.
Trish convinces Margo to go to the police station with her but Douglas catches them outside has a word with them. Sadie's moods continue to grow worse causing great concern for Jockie, while Effie is taking her new position a little too seriously.
Jockie takes over looking after the house while Sadie is unwell. Tom and Sheila chat about Claire. Fergus swaps the spoons for something a bit noisier for the concert, while Gary is injured at work.
Jockie and Alun argue about Gary's accident, throwing accusations around. Fiona offers Tom a few words of advice regarding Sheila. Sneddon warns Ben off Lynne and Joanna and Eric are unhappy with Effie's efforts.
Lynne speaks to Sam over the issue of Sneddon interfering in her private life. Greg isn't happy when he finds out that Jockie won't accept compensation because he wants legal action instead and Cecilia warns Trish about Mark.
Jockie's greedy plans for compensation fall apart. Sheila agrees to have lunch with Eddie while Tom apologises for his reaction towards him. Trish doesn't want to see Mark anymore after finding out a few things and Alun's sister calls the Big House.
The Glendarroch residents are preparing themselves for the concert starting, nerves and all. Eric and Effie's performance at the start of the show is interrupted when Joanna goes into labour, leaving Effie slightly 'boxed in' on the stage!
Glendarroch are anxiously awaiting news on Joanna who has been in labour for 12 hours. Eddie has suspicions that Tom wants more than just a friendship with Sheila and Trish is worried about her mother's behaviour, which is worsening.
It's the minister's last service in Glendarroch. While Mairi and Lynne make their way, Mairi expresses her concerns for Catriona growing up too fast and Joanna and Eric are struggling to think of a name for their baby girl.
Joanna and Eric bring their baby girl home. The minister says his goodbyes to everyone in Glendarroch, making some a little emotional, and after a chat with Mrs Lachlan regarding family, Isabel takes it upon herself to contact Alun's sister.
Isabel tries to rectify the quarrel between Alun and Greg with no success and so later explains to Fiona. Sam tries to find something on Alun with no success and Mairi returns home from Auchtarn only to be shocked with what she finds.
The social working questions Mairi, looking for signs of child neglect. Eric and Joanna come up with a plan to pick the baby's name and Emma gives Douglas a hard time over being involved in taking the kids from their home.
arol has a theory as to why Eddie is returning to Glendarroch. Lynne is concerned about Mairi keeping the kids off school. Mrs Mack doesn't hold back on gossiping on the recent incident and Alun returns feeling riddled with guilt.
Mairi lets the kids go back to school but with strict instructions to not tell anyone anything. Alun suggest that Sian's daughter live with him and Isabel and Greg gives Alun a list of demands for the golf course.
Alun has decided to go back to Wales until Menna has finished school. Fiona reveals to Joanna that she sometimes worries about Sam and Greg. Eddie and Tom appear to be competing for Sheila and Isabel tries to make Alun see things clearer.
Mairi is worried about Sandy as he is a little quiet since the issues with the social worker. Mrs Mack can't stop talking about Ben's great qualities to Michael. Jockie and Sadie return, but there is no sign of any improvement with Sadie's health.
Isabel has been preparing for Alun and his niece coming to the village this afternoon. Susan is astounded to find Mrs Mack hand-washing her underwear but Michael doesn't see the harm. Meanwhile, Sam asks Greg to keep a secret from Fiona.
Isabel's first impression of Menna isn't the best. Susan feels there should be some boundaries set in the Manse with Mrs Mack so arranges a meeting. Mairi goes to the school to see her kids records and Menna becomes destructive.
The Ross' meeting with Mrs Mack results in Mrs Mack being very upset. Menna isn't too happy about her first day at school in Auchtarn but goes anyway and Eddie saves with day with a solution to take Menna's mind off things.
t's Menna's first day at school and Isabel is worried about her, but all seems to go well. Mairi is worried about the letter she received requesting her presence at the childrens panel and Sneddon investigates into Sam's watch.
Lynne offers to go to the childrens panel with Mairi, but luckily Isabel offers. Mairi demands to see the files on her case and is surprised to be met with some co operation and the suspect of the mystery sheep carcass points towards Sneddon's lot.
Some of the Glendarroch residents pull together to get Mairi's croft back on track. The situation with Mrs Mack is causing people to talk. Sneddon gets information on the watch while Menna finds out the truth about her uncle being married.
Isabel has a chat with Menna about the reasons why she's never agreed to marry Alun. Gordon's troubles with getting over Trish is beginning to affect his work there's a problem with drains that Fiona thinks Sneddon has created intentionally.
Gordon thinks he'll never get over Trish and considers that he might not be able to stay in Glendarroch. Mairi is beginning to doubt herself as a mother, while Alun disagrees with Menna spending time with Eddie. Tom finally tells Sheila how he feels.
It's the day of the hearing and Mairi is worried about the impact recent events have had on her kids. Fiona is told that she has no case against the other estate over the flooding. Gordon and Morag chat about his decision to leave for university.
Sam is growing tired of Sneddon throwing accusations at her. Mairi offers to let Menna up to her croft to give Isabel and Alun time for a chat and Gordon breaks the news to Greg, while Morag can't handle the idea of being alone again.
Mairi finally clears the air with Douglas. Sheila receives some bad news from her mum so can't go away with Tom at the weekend. Eric and Joanna get the christening plans underway, which is going to be family only much to Effie's annoyance.
Morag is delighted with her gift from Gordon. Susan is reluctant to have Mrs Mack's help with the house. Grace is disappointed that Emma and Douglas are moving in, while over at the shop, Isabel insists Alun clears the air with Eddie.
Mrs Mack and Mr Murdoch gossip about the mess in the manse. Mrs Mack fears she may have to leave...putting the fear into Mr Murdoch! Sheila approaches Fiona for a favour and Effie is worried about having already bought a christening present
Mrs Mack has made the decision to hand in her notice which makes the minister feel bad. Joanna's visit to the shop with Lucy creates more than one awkward situation and Sneddon continues to snoop into Sam's background.
Alun and Isabel disagree on how to handle Menna. Mrs Mack starts to inform Glendarroch residents of her eviction. A strange call for Greg panics both him and Sam while making Fiona more suspicious and Duncan is gradually introduced to the village.
uncan accepts Sneddon's job offer. Sheila decides she has to sell her car to help her parents. Greg and Sam argue about who is behind Greg's past being questioned, while Sneddon is gathering more information on Sam.
Eddie offers Sheila help and tells her he has a girlfriend when she takes his gesture the wrong way. Sam finds out why Sneddon's been acting strange and she confirms the truth and Duncan lends a helping hand with Sheila's car.
Eric and Joanna are having Lucy christened at home, which Mrs Mack disagrees with. Isabel suggests that her and Alan take Menna for a picnic and Trish is beginning to understand how Menna feels being bossed around.
Menna is convinced that her uncle doesn't like her. Eddie shows an interest in Sheila's car. Fiona and Greg plan a holiday and Mrs Mack is putting her mark all over Mr Murdoch's house but Fergus puts her in her place.
Menna is upset after reading the letters from her mother to her uncle. The situation between Mrs Mack and Mr Murdoch is the talk of Glendarroch so Isabel takes the matter into her hands and Menna confides in Trish.
Sneddon shows Sam the photograph and demands she confirm everything. Isabel and Alun leave Menna and Trish to themselves but Alun doesn't think it's right. Meanwhile, Fiona and Greg are getting ready to go on holiday but are interrupted by a call.
Alun isn't coping with Sian's death so Isabel suggests a memorial. Greg fears Fiona will find out about past events with Sam. Mr Murdoch admits he's not happy with Mrs Mack moving in and Mrs Lachlan struggles with Mrs McTaggart's deafness.
Lynne finds Sneddon passed out drunk in a trashed house so Duncan takes care of him in his hungover state. Eddie asks Duncan to keep quiet that he bought Sheila's car while Lynne snaps at Davie for neglecting the estate.
Isabel has had enough of the quarrel between Menna and Alun so has a word with Menna. Isabel is also holding the secret of Mr Murdoch's departure but Mrs Mack thinks he has gone missing and Effie isn't happy when Duncan and Morag hit it off.
Fergus gives Mrs Mack a hard time over Mr Murdoch going missing. Menna starts to search for somewhere else to live outside Glendarroch. The memorial service for Sian is going ahead but getting Menna to cooperate is proving something of a problem.
Trish finds out that Sadie has stopped taking her pills and worries she'll fall back to square one. Mrs Mack is not taking it lightly that Isabel was aware of his plans and Jean's hearing problems almost cause an accident.
Alun is having second thoughts about the memorial. Mairi steps in and tries to reason with Menna but fails. Mrs Mack approaches the minister for help and Menna confides in Mairi after she faces some trouble looking for a flat.
Mrs Mack is considering leaving Glendarroch but the minister convinces her otherwise. Mrs Mack offers cleaning services to Douglas. Mrs McTaggart gets a hearing aid and Eric shows interest in whiskey that Mrs McTaggart and Mrs Lachlan have at home.
Tom starts to announce his and Sheila's engagement. Alun asks Isabel to marry him again but she turns him down as she usually does. Meanwhile, Gary is up to no good with his friends causing Douglas great concern.
Jockie and Trish discuss her plans for the future. The minister has good news for Duncan on his coin find but Sneddon doesn't see it the same way and Isabel has a change of heart regarding her decisions against marriage.
A passer by discovers Alun's crashed car. Douglas visits Isabel to break the bad news. An archeologist that comes to Glendarroch to investigate the coins turns out to be an old friend of Joanna's and Morag plans a new look.
Alun is suffering from post traumatic amnesia taking him back to the time of his wife's death. Celia is looking for permission to investigate the grounds from Sam and Morag tries her hand at a dating angency.
Greg returns from his holiday and assures Isabel his job on the golf course is safe. Mrs Lachlan is confronted by Gary McDonald and his trouble-making friends giving her a shock and Isabel is finding it difficult to deal with Alun's condition.
Douglas and Emma argue over about how to deal with the thugs. Eddie thinks that Tom and Sheila don't quite suit each other. Douglas comes up with an idea to keep the kids in the village entertained and Sam blurts out about an old love to Sheila.
Plans for the youth cafe are underway. Unsurprisingly, Mrs Mack puts forward a complaint against it. Susan tries to encourage Isabel to go back to the hospital again and Greg isn't happy with people knowing about Sam owning the other estate.
Morag shows off her new look in Glendarroch and tells Mairi about he first experience with a dating agency. It's the opening of the youth cafe but the first day isn't looking good and Isabel suggests that her and Alun get to know each other again.
Alun is getting out of hospital but he still doesn't know anyone except Menna. The youth cafe idea hasn't been welcomed as Mrs Mack finds the village hall broken into and Sam is embarassed over what happened with Greg so hands in her notice.
Leonard offers to take Mrs Mack to afternoon tea as a token of his appreciation. Isabel is surprised that Alun wants his stay in their home as a business arrangement only and the minister and Douglas discuss how to deal with the break in.
Mrs Mack boasts about being taken for afternoon tea but won't say who with. Lynne is worried that she'll be out of a job if Sam leaves and Sneddon takes great pleasure in watching Greg sweat over his and Sam's secrets.
Douglas and Emma argue about the mess of the house. Mrs Mack is set against improving the youth cafe. At the hotel, Effie doesn't hide that she's not happy about Mrs Mack and Leonard. Mrs McTaggart and Mrs Lachlan look forward to the auction.
Gary promises Sarah he is being honest, but lies about all the money being gone. Trish is annoyed with Victor for being so friendly with Mrs Mack. Menna is leaving for Wales today, and is sad to be leaving. Carol is on a retreat with her religious group, but never told anyone she was leaving. Victor is ill. Sarah finds Gary's stash of money.
Victor has meningitis, and is in a serious condition in hospital. Gary tells Sarah about where he got the money from, and about what Peter did to him. Sarah wants to tell Sam what happened. Morag and Tom return from honeymoon. Mairi is annoyed to see Stella back in Glendarroch.
It's Sheila's birthday, but she is keeping it quiet. Stella looks after the shop while Isobel goes to get her hair done and go shopping, but Mairi isn't happy to see her there. Peter begs Sarah not to tell Sam what happened. Victor and Trish argue about his friendship with Mrs Mack.
Gary wants him and Sheila to start a taxi business. Eddie visits Sheila for her birthday. Tom thinks Morag isn't pulling her weight on the croft, and isn't happy with sharing her duties in the house. Sarah isn't happy with Gary's plan to go into business with Chic.
Victor is out of hospital, but still taking it easy. Morag doesn't seem to be outside working much now, and Tom is annoyed with her getting her hair done and going to lunch all the time. Stella and Mairi are still bickering. Isobel asks Stella to stay longer and help, but she says no.
Gary isn't sure he trusts Chic. Mrs Mack has lent money to Victor, and Trish isn't happy. Stella tells Mairi to ask Isobel for a job at the shop, and Isobel is delighted. Eric has forgot about his anniversary, and Joanna isn't impressed. Peter promotes Sarah.
Roddy threatens Gary about the taxi business, and he sends someone over to beat up Chic. Dominic asks Sally out on a date, but she isn't sure, as she just wants to be friends. Tom speaks to Morag about wanting her to work on the croft, and she said she has wanted to since the honeymoon. Morag and Tom want to start a business making homemade produce.
It looks like Sarah has a crush on Peter, and they go to Glasgow for a business meeting. Dominic and Sally are now an item, but he is coming on a bit too strong. Morag and Tom continue to plan their business venture, and want to convert the barn into a cafe.
Sarah makes a mistake at the office, and Sam is annoyed with her for it. Trish thinks Mrs Mack is getting too close to Victor. Sneddon thinks squatters are staying at Carol's house, and goes into the house with a gun, but they are friends of Carol's. Morag holds a business dinner at the croft. Peter and Sarah share a kiss while Sam is at the dinner.
Carol seems to be living with Martin and his son Dylan, but Isobel and Mairi aren't sure about him. Sally and Dominic are arguing, as Sally thinks he likes her stepmother as she is young. Sarah is acting like she is in love with Peter, but he wants to forget what happened. Peter comes round to Sarah's house, and they kiss again.
Effie and Jockie enter into a dance competition. Sarah and Peter continue to see each other in secret. Gary is annoyed with Chic taking advantage of him. Sneddon asks out Tiffany again. Sheila is wary of Sally, as she seems to be spending a lot of money on Dominic.
Sheila tells Dominic to return the gifts to Sally, as she seems to be a bad influence. Mrs Mack continues to fuss over Victor, but he is getting fed up with it. Tom brings some samples of cheese to the bar. Sally makes Dominic skip school.
Sarah is acting like a lovesick child, and Sam is unimpressed with her attitude, but doesn't know the reason behind it. Dominic finds out that Sally has been using her stepmother's credit card, and confesses to Sheila. Sally leaves home and comes to stay at Sheila's.
Sally is too scared to return home, but Sheila doesn't want her to stay any longer. Sarah tells Peter that she doesn't want to stay with Gary, but he is worried about her immaturity. After spending the day with Sarah, Peter has some sort of attack and gets taken away by ambulance. Sam tells Peter that she will marry him if he wants.
Sarah is acting hysterical around Peter, but he is getting fed up with her, and tells her he wants to end things. Gary catches Sarah and Peter having lunch together, and before he jumps to conclusions, Peter tells him and Sarah about the engagement to Sam. Stella is thinking about staying in Glendarroch.
Sarah isn't getting on well at work, and Sam isn't happy with her effort. Stella offers a lot of money to stay in the hotel, but she wants to stay where Joanna and Eric are living at the moment. Sneddon is unhappy that Tiffany is giving him the brush-off, and gets into a fight with another man she is seeing in the club.
Sheila asks Sarah if she is pregnant because of her mood swings, and she is terrified at the thought of it. Sneddon and Tiffany are seeing each other again. Sarah finds out that she is pregnant, she is devastated, and asks Sheila for advice. Sneddon asks Tiffany to move in with him, but she isn't sure.
Sarah tells Gary that she is pregnant, and he is delighted. Martin tells Carol he wants to go to Ireland for the folk music season, and she is disappointed. Tom doesn't like Morag being so safety conscious about the cheese-making after she returns from the course. Sarah tells Peter she knows he is the father.
Carol is worrying about money. Sam is very impressed with the creamery, but isn't happy when Tom and Morag congratulate her on her engagement, and calls it off with Peter after an argument. Sarah is feeling guilty because Gary is being so nice to her. Martin says he is leaving, so Carol goes with him.
Stella moves into the hotel. Everyone is shocked to learn that Carol has left with Martin without telling anyone. Sam tells Peter the wedding is back on, and he is delighted. Sarah meets with Peter, and she is hurt to discover that he wants nothing to do with her or the baby.
Eric isn't happy waiting hand and foot on Stella at the hotel. Menna is back for a visit. Morag starts selling her cheese in the shop. Sarah is acting hysterical after talking to Peter, and tells Sheila she wants to have an abortion. Sarah tells Gary he might not be the father of the baby.
Gary is devastated to learn about Sarah's affair with Peter, and tells her he will tell Sam everything. Stella is holding a party that will be selling sexy underwear, but Mairi isn't impressed, and Mrs Mack is mortified. Peter murders Gary and buries him in the woods after dark.
Sarah is concerned that Gary has been missing overnight. Joanna tells Eric that she agreed to let Tiffany go to Wales with Menna at the previous night's party. Peter and Sarah argue about the affair.
Gary has still not returned and Sarah is as worried as ever. His absence is affecting the garage business. The saleswoman that Eric deals with is coming to the hotel for a meeting and Isabel feels that Morag being in the shop makes people feel forced to buy her cheese.
Sarah is cleaning the house in preperation for Gary coming home, but she is still frantic with worry. Tom encourages Morag to reconcile with Isobel over the cheese. Eric is worried about turning forty. Trish and Victor are bickering about living together.
Sam is planning her wedding, and tells Peter she wants Sheila as a witness. Sheila takes Sarah to the police station to report Gary missing. Tom is annoyed with Morag for telling Isobel and Mairi they are opening a farm shop, when he didn't want to.
Eric isn't enjoying his birthday. Jockie is getting more worried the longer Gary has been missing. Sarah goes for her scan, and is upset Gary is missing it. Lachie is showing a mild interest in Mairi, and Isobel pokes fun at her. Sheila tells Peter to call off the wedding or she will tell Sam everything. Eric buys a hairpiece.
Joanna hates Eric's new hairpiece, but he refuses to take it off even though people are making fun of it. Peter goes to Sarah and asks her to stop Sheila telling Sam everything. Lachie asks Mairi out, but she says she isn't interested. Peter collapses as Sheila arrives at the wedding.
Trish invites Lafferty round to the cottage for a drink, but Victor isn't impressed. Eddie returns, and suggests to Jockie that they go out and look for Gary themselves. Trish and Lafferty share a kiss during their evening together.
Victor isn't happy that Lafferty stayed the night with Trish. Eddie insists that Sheila tells the police about the affair as it changes everything. Joanna is worried that Eric will have an affair because of his mid-life crisis, and starts dressing more provocatively. Sarah is furious with Sheila for telling the police.
The police think the fact Gary is a senior partner in the garage is more cause for investigation than his disappearance. Sam and Peter return from holiday, and the police want to talk to him but he denies an affair. Isobel is going to a dance with Lachie, and Mairi is making fun of her.
Sam wonders why the police wanted to speak to Peter. Sarah begs the police to believe her, and she tells them about the hush money Peter gave him. Mairi seems to feel left out when Lachie picks up Isobel for the dance.
Sarah goes to stay with Sheila and Eddie for company. Peter is starting to crack under the pressure, and is lashing out at Sam. Tom and Morag are opening the farm shop today, but it's very quiet. Eric doesn't like Joanna's new look, but she is still trying hard. Tiffany returns to Glendarroch. Peter goes to Sarah and asks for the money back, and threatens her.
Sarah is terrified after what Peter said to her. Sheila goes up to the Big House to see Sam, but Peter ends up attacking her, and Sam walks in. She tells Peter to leave the house. Sally worries about the poison pen letters. Tom and Morag are upset that their opening day was a failure. Sneddon finds Peter, and it appears he has committed suicide in front of Gary's grave.
Everyone is devastated to learn of Gary's death, and Sam is shocked to learn that Peter was implicated in it. Sarah is feeling terribly guilty about his death, and is finding it hard to not tell anyone the truth. Trish knows there is something more to Gary's murder, and wants to question Sarah.
Sarah confesses to Sam about the affair, but Sam forgives her when she sees how upset she is. Trish is determined to find out what happened with Sarah. She confronts her and Sarah confesses. Reporters are in Glendarroch trying to get a story. Stella tells Lachie to ask out Mairi.
Sarah has gone to stay with her mother after Jockie stormed in and shouted at her. Dominic and Sally are scared that something might happen to them, as Sally thinks the pen letters are to blame. Tom and Morag get their picture taken for a food magazine. It appears Cheryl has a crush on Eric.
Tiffany is still staying with Sneddon, and not enjoying the early mornings, so she plans to move back into the hotel. Sally and Dominic read up about the spirit world. Victor plans to move in with Mrs Mack to give Trish some space. Sam goes round to see Sneddon for some company, and they end up kissing.
Sam spent the night with Sneddon, but feels uncomfortable about it, and quickly leaves in the morning. Eddie is furious with Dominic and Sally for having a seance, as it left Sally terrified. Mrs Mack loves living with Victor and looking after him. Joanna finally gets rid of Eric's wig and sacks Cheryl.
It is the day of Gary's funeral, and Jockie tells Sarah to keep away, but she arrives at the end. Trish blows up at Sarah in the pub, and Jockie ends up telling everyone about the affair. Menna arrives back for the funeral. Sally is still scared about dying, and she and Dominic end up getting drunk and kissing.
Sam is going to Peter's cremation as she feels that she should. Sarah receives threatening letters through her door, from Trish. Jockie breaks into Sarah's home to collect Gary's things which upsets her. Victor arranges for Lachie to take Mrs Mack to the theatre.
Mrs Mack is furious with Victor for setting her up with Lachie. Tom is worried that they are taking orders that they don't have the resources to fill. Sheila and Eddie go to talk to the principal about Sally and Dominic. Tom and Morag are going to be appearing on the radio.
Tom and Morag are nervous about their radio interview. Sally learns the pen letter she received was written by a young boy at school. Tom and Morag end up having an argument about the business on the radio, but the presenter is delighted.
Eric ends up firing Tiffany after she is caught coming out of a guest's bedroom, and she leaves Glendarroch straight away. Lachie's daughter Kitty arrives to stay, and goes to interview for the job at the bar. Tom and Morag reconcile after they listen to their radio interview and have a laugh about it.
Victor tries to suggest karaoke for the club to Trish, but she refuses. Kitty is finding it difficult to adjust to working in the bar. Morag is finding it hard to cope with the creamery. Trish steals something from the shop, but doesn't realise she put it in her bag.
Trish is still chasing after Lafferty, even though he doesn't seem to be showing her much attention. Victor arranges the karaoke for the hotel, and Eric is nervous as he agreed to do the opening number. Mairi goes round to cook Lachie his tea, but they end up getting trapped in the basement. Trish sees Lafferty flirting with Kitty, and pours a drink over his head.
Mairi and Lachie have been trapped in the basement all night, and Kitty arrives with Chic and lets them out. Mairi is mortified about what happened, and doesn't want anyone to find out about it. Lafferty tells Trish he wants to try again, and asks if he can move in.
Lafferty has moved into the cottage, and has been treating Trish very well. Chic doesn't waste much time in telling lots of people about Mairi and Lachie being stuck in the cellar. Victor isn't happy that Lafferty has moved into the cottage. A new doctor has arrived in Glendarroch. Dominic and Sally start working at the creamery.
Sam has donated £2,000 to Isabel and the theatre group. Sally and Dominic aren't enjoying working at the creamery very much. Dr Andy offends Trish by mentioning the murder as he is moving into his new cottage. Eric isn't sure whether to join the theatre goup. Morag thinks she is going through menopause.
Kitty encourages Lachie to persevere with Mairi, but also to stand up to her. Eric and Isabel fall out when he chats to her about the theatre group. Lachie organises a men's night of poker, so Mairi organises a women's night at Morag's.
Tom is worried as he bet Morag's goats in the poker game, and Sneddon won, so he comes to collect them. Dominic is studying for his exams. Isabel holds auditions for the theatre group, but Eric is annoyed when he isn't picked as chairperson.
Sheila and Eddie worry about Dominic who is frantic over his exams. Eric is unhappy with Isabel being in charge of the theatre group. Morag goes to see Dr Sharpe about the menopause, but is shocked to be told that she is pregnant.
Sarah is still considering her options and has not yet told Tony about her pregnancy. Joanna is enjoying the comforts of the hotel and the attentions of the menfolk of Glendarroch.
Tony, overjoyed at the thought of fathering Sarah’s baby, proclaims his love for her to the entire village. Ewan encourages Lachie to get out and about. Lafferty and Sneddon make their moves on Joanna.
Sneddon’s pursuit of Joanna draws a jealous reaction from Sheila, but his efforts only succeed in pushing Joanna into Lafferty’s arms. Chic is devastated to discovers that Lachie’s new woman friend is none other than his lost love Lily.
Sheila gets the wrong end of the stick when she sees Sneddon and Joanna together. Joanna and Lafferty’s relationship heats up and so does the village gossip. Chic comforts Lachie and Lilly. Effie goes into training.
Word gets around that Joanna has been sleeping with Lafferty. Tony flies of the handle when he finds an abortion leaflet in Sarah’s bag and confronts Dr Clark. Mairi arrives back in town, shocking everyone by acting out of character when she hears about Lachie and Lilly.
Joanna is feeling low, and Sneddon makes his move on her while Lafferty is away. Sheila is upset to see Joanna and Sneddon together. Ewan, Sally, Lafferty, Chic, Effie and Mrs Mack set off on the West Highland Way.
Sheila decides to make amends with Sneddon. Lafferty opens up to Sally about his feelings towards Joanna. Lachie suspects that Mairi has met someone else in France. Tony confides in Dr Clark about Siobhan and the abortion.
Joanna succumbs to Sneddon’s advances in a moment of weakness. Lachie confesses to Tom that he wants Mairi back. The final day of the walk arrives, and the walkers celebrate with a barbecue in Fort William.
Lafferty tries to take up where he left off with Joanna and is hurt and confused when she rebuffs him. Lachie sets out to woo Mairi again after realising he loves her. A young Irishman arrives in Glendarroch and takes Sally’s fancy, but she is suspicious of his reasons for being there.
Lafferty declares his love for Joanna and is heartbroken when she tells him she’s going back to Edinburgh. Lachie connives to get Mairi alone, with help from Tom and Morag. Niall appears to be taking a close interest in Robbie and Sheila, and Sally grows more suspicious. Effie receives a postcard from the man she almost kissed, saying that he is coming to visit. Sheila tells Sneddon to stay away from Joanna, but he gets annoyed.
Lachie is devastated following Mairi’s rejection but, with support from Tom and Morag, he finds his way back into her heart. Ewan's uncle comes to visit Effie, and tries to seduce her, but she is uncomfortable with it. Niall confesses to Sally that he did not arrive in Glendarroch by accident, and that he is searching for his father. Effie tells Jockie about what happened, and he goes to confront Robert.
Mairi moves back in with Lachie, and Tom and Morag are delighted when they hear that they plan to get married. Sheila invites Niall for lunch but they are forced to call Dr Clark when Robbie is taken ill. Effie and Jockie have a huge fight, and tell each other they don't want to live together, so they are ignoring each other in the house. Morag wants to join in and help plan Mairi's wedding.
Jockie and Effie are still being nasty to each other, and he tells Sarah he doesn't want her near Sadie which angers her. Tom asks Lachie to make sure getting married is what he wants. Chic gets Lafferty a new bike. The women of the village attend Mairi’s hen party in the Ardnacraig. Sally confronts Niall about Sneddon and persuades him to stay in Glendarroch. Lachie is determined to have a quiet stag party, but Chic has other plans.
It’s the day of Mairi’s wedding and despite the best-laid plans, things do not run smoothly. Mairi has to round up the pigs in her wedding dress after they run loose around the yard, and ends up getting a lift on the back of Lafferty's bike after Chic's car breaks down. However a special guest makes Mairi’s day. With Sally’s prompting, Sheila makes the connection between Niall and Sneddon.
