The race begins: four women set off on the greatest adventure of their lives. Forty-degree heat, desert terrain, and steep climbs and descents challenge them from the very first kilometres. Ann-Kathrin takes a wrong turn right at the start. The initial euphoria quickly gives way to exhaustion, and the first aches and pains begin to set in. There are still 4,800 kilometres ahead of them, and no one knows what the coming days will bring.
