Just after finishing up, Thorny spots Harriet at the alleys, as the boys make a quick exit. Their secret would be safe except for the case of pop which shows up to their home the next day. Ozzie confesses the story to everyone, including Harriet, who doesn't have the heart to admit she bowled a few games too and the high score may be hers.

    Ozzie heads down to the florist in dirty clothes after having played baseball with the boys. He traditionally sends a bunch of violets to Harriet on this day. But when the florist sees Ozzie's clothes and he has to scrap up enough change for the cheap violets, he decides to do a good deed and send the more expensive orchids in it's place. Harriet is surprised by the gift and so is Ozzie when he sees the flowers are orchids. He believes they were sent by his old rival, Cranston Poole, a wealthy playboy type.

    While eating breakfast, Ricky notices the box of pancake mix has a slogan which guaranteed "double your money back if you're not totally satisfied with this product," an idea which Ozzie believes someone should challenge just to teach the company a lesson. Ricky becomes that very person and is visited by the company representatives who want to try a new recipe with the pancakes to see how he likes them now. The cakes are topped with chocolate syrup, bananas, peaches, whipped cream and more....

    A pair of chairs arrive at the Nelson's home as a mistake. When Ozzie tries the fix the mix up, it creates further confusion when two more chairs are sent. After trying out the chairs Ozzie decides to keep a pair of them and send the others back. Thorny convinces Ozzie to send his old chairs to the bowling alley. While away, a man comes and removes all four chairs on Harriet's insistence. Later, a knock on the door finds the men from the department store coming for the chairs. The new chairs had been taken to the bowling alley. Thorny receives a phone call explaining the chairs should have originally been sent to his house.
