In der von Matthias Opdenhövel moderierten Spielshow „The Connection“ bekommen die Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten die Aufgabe, komplexe Verbindungen zwischen scheinbar wahllosen Begriffen zu erkennen. Aus ihren Antworten ergibt sich am Ende eine große „Masterconnection“. Eine Chance auf den Sieg hat nur, wer sowohl über ein breites Allgemeinwissen verfügt und den großen Zusammenhang der „Connection“ erkennt.
