The Prince of Wales joined Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy with a commemorative ceremony at the Juno Beach Centre. The ceremony commemorated the Canadian soldiers, sailors and aviators who took part in D-Day and the two and half month long Battle of Normandy that followed. The ceremony served to remember those who were lost, as well as honouring those who continued the fight, some of whom were present at the ceremony.
