The Shattered Silence

Richard Kimble freundet sich mit der Künstlerin Andrea Cross an. Der eifersüchtige Hilfssheriff Howe sieht deshalb in ihm einen Rivalen und setzt alles daran, ihn auszuschalten. Bei einer Verfolgungsjagd wird Kimble verletzt und er flüchtet in die Berge. Der Eremit Mallory liest ihn auf und pflegt ihn gesund. Schließlich findet Mallory Gefallen an Kimbles Gesellschaft und will ihn nicht mehr gehen lassen. (Text: Premiere)

In the hills of Oregon, a young sculptor, named Andrea, hides Kimble from a local deputy, named Howe. But when the lawman finds him, Kimble retreats deeper into the mountains where he finds refuge in the home of John Mallory, a former scholar who cut himself off from civilization 14 years earlier and his only companions are two vicious German Shepherd dogs. Despite being aware that Kimble is a fugitive from the law, Mallory takes a liking to Kimble and forbids him to leave. Kimble is compelled to help the ailing Mallory as Deputy Howe closes in on their location.

Richard Kimble devient l'ami d'Andrea Cross, une ravissante jeune artiste. Mais cette idylle est interrompue par un policier jaloux qui veut appréhender Kimble. Celui-ci parvient à s'échapper de justesse et se réfugie alors chez un étrange vieil homme, qui vit seul depuis plus de quatorze ans...
