Darien und Hobbes sind einem Spermadieb auf den Fersen. Ein Forscher nutzt die Samenflüssigkeit, um daraus Intelligenzgene zu isolieren, mit deren Hilfe er ein neuartiges Virus entwickelt. Hobbes infiziert sich damit und wird plötzlich immer schlauer. Diese Gentherapie kann allerdings auch tödliche Folgen haben. Hobbes ist nun zwar intelligent genug, um ein Heilmittel zu entwickeln. Doch er möchte lieber klug sterben als weniger schlau weiterleben.
Hobbes and Darien are on the trail of a sperm thief. A college professor is using the sperm to isolate intelligence-causing genes, and put them into a retrovirus. Hobbes is accidentally infected and soon begins to become more and more intelligent. But the partners discover that the gene therapy is lethal. Bobby becomes smart enough to create a cure...but refuses to do so, preferring to die smart then live dumb. Darien infects himself, leaving Hobbes no choice but to come up with a cure to save his friend.
Des éprouvettes sont volées à la banque du sperme réservée aux prix Nobel souhaitant faire passer leurs gènes aux générations futures. Le docteur Galasyn, à l'origine de ce vol, se sert de l'A.D.N. recueilli pour augmenter l'intelligence du commun des mortels, grâce à des injections. Quand Darien et Hobbes le surprennent, il tente de s'échapper et contamine Hobbes avec sa seringue...
