Senator Brody hat beste Chancen, der neue US-Präsident zu werden. Somit will man verhindern, dass ein Präsident an die Macht kommt, der das Land ins Verderben stürzt. Der Senator soll nun während des Landeanfluges aus dem Flugzeug springen.
Senator Wyndom Brody has just won the New Hampshire primary, upsetting a heavily favored opponent, and he's flying to South Carolina to press his campaign for the Presidency. As the plane files south, it's hit by lightning. The plane and its passengers appear unaffected, but a mysterious woman appears in Brody's private quarters and warns him the strike has damaged the airplane, which will crash on landing, killing him and six others. She explains she is a projection from the future, a virtual time-traveler sent here to save him because his presidency is the key to preventing an apocalyptic future. If he is to live he must shoot out the emergency exit and allow himself to be sucked out of the plane by decompression, whereupon he will be saved by the stranger's sophisticated technology.

El senador Wyndom Brody acaba de ganar las primarias de New Hampshire, lo que le causa un gran disgusto a su oponente, y está volando a Carolina del Sur para presionar con su campaña para la Presidencia. A medida que el avión se desplaza hacia el sur, es alcanzado por un rayo. El avión y sus pasajeros parecen no verse afectados, pero una misteriosa mujer aparece en los aposentos privados de Brody y le advierte que el ataque dañó el avión, que se estrellará al aterrizar, matándole a él y a otros seis. Ella explica que es una proyección del futuro, un viajero en el tiempo virtual enviado aquí para salvarlo porque su presidencia es la clave para prevenir un futuro apocalíptico. Si va a vivir, debe disparar la salida de emergencia y dejarse chupar del avión por la descompresión, con lo cual será salvado por la sofisticada tecnología del desconocido.
