The guys arrive in a brick basement on the North Atlantic coast in 1978. It has advanced electrical equipment, and they are attacked by an overalled man. He collapses dead, then gets up and disappears in a cloud of smoke. They go upstairs and are paralyzed by an alien-android disguised as an old woman. The aliens are preparing to steal Earth's oxygen. The Project staff execute a lateral transfer and free the guys. They escape to a seemingly empty town surrounded by a force field and filled with paralyzed townspeople. A young couple, Paul and Joan, find the guys and tell them about the oxygen-stealing plot. Meanwhile the alien androids infiltrate the Project base, seal it off, and start sucking out the oxygen through the Tunnel itself. The guys must destroy the operation at their end. They fight off the androids and use explosives to blow up the alien HQ.

Utolsó állomásához érkezett a két időjáró utazása, akik ezúttal egy földönkívüli létesítmény vezérlőtermében találják magukat. A létesítmény azonban egy új-angliai kisváros ódon szállodájában húzza meg magát, az időpont pedig 1978. Hamarosan rájönnek az idegenek sötét szándékára: a Föld légkörét kívánják "átpumpálni" egy másik bolygóra. Hogy céljukat zavartalanul elérhessék, a városka teljes lakosságát mozdulatlanná dermesztették. Kivéve kettőt, s Tony és Doug csak az ő segítségükre számíthat, ha keresztül akarják húzni az űrlakók tervét - akik már az időalagút központjából is elkezdték kiszivattyúzni a levegőt...
Appena arrivati in una cantina zeppa di apparecchiature elettroniche, Tony e Doug sono aggrediti senza alcuna ragione da un individuo che scompare dopo essere stato messo al tappeto. Saliti al pianterreno di quello che sembra un innocuo albergo, i due scienziati scoprono che l'intero villaggio del Maine in cui si trovano è stato invaso da alieni che intendono rubare tutto l'ossigeno della Terra. Inutile cercare aiuto: sembra che tutta la popolazione sia stata ridotta allo stato vegetale, tranne due ragazzi che in qualche modo sono riusciti a sfuggire agli extraterrestri. Unendo le loro forze i quattro tentano di sabotare il piano degli alieni, ma questi riescono a raggiungere il quartier generale del tunnel del tempo e iniziano ad aspirare l'ossigeno anche dalla sala controllo...
