Die obdachlose junge Prostituierte Sunny, die einst Kims Brieftasche gestohlen hatte, überrascht Kim vor ihrem Haus und bittet sie, eine Weile bei ihr bleiben zu dürfen. Kim bietet statt dessen an, ihr bei der Suche nach einer Bleibe behilflich zu sein, doch Sunny läuft enttäuscht davon. Als das Mädchen kurz darauf an einer Überdosis stirbt, fühlt Kim sich schuldig. Ausgerechnet jetzt gesteht ihr Bobby seine Liebe. Doch als er sie küssen will, wendet sie sich ab und lässt ihn verunsichert und beschämt alleine zurück. Später gesteht sie ihm jedoch, dass auch sie sich von ihm angezogen fühlt. Eine Beziehung mit ihm will sie aufgrund ihrer schlechten Erfahrungen aber nicht eingehen.
Unterdessen hat sich die Stimmung zwischen Davis und Sully deutlich verbessert. Den beiden ist es gelungen, das Mädchen Shelley Russell aus den Händen ihres Entführers Chester Dennis zu befreien. Ihre Zufriedenheit verpufft jedoch schlagartig, als sie erfahren, dass ein häuslicher Streit, den sie kurz zuvor ohne eine Verhaftung beendet hatten, in einem tragischen Mord endete. Derweil hat sich das Verhältnis von Doc und Carlos so drastisch verschlechtert, dass die beiden wütend mit den Fäusten aufeinander losgehen. Als sie schließlich im Mercy Hospital nebeneinander auf ihre Behandlung warten, wird den Streithähnen jedoch klar, dass sie gar nicht so unterschiedlich sind...
