When American tycoon Steve Fossett failed to return from a solo flight over Nevada in September 2007 no-one could understand how such an experienced pilot could vanish into thin air. When Fossett’s wreckage was found in the Sierra Nevada Mountains by a lone hiker in October 2008, many believed the story was over.
