元刑事で余命わずかの破天荒なベテラン葬儀屋・嗣江宗助（しえ・そうすけ）は、ジャージに銀髪、ヘビースモーカーという風貌から一見危険でアウトローに見えるが、その裏には愛情深さや誠実さが確かにある、弔いのプロフェッショナルだ。そんな嗣江と、仕事に忙殺され自分を見失ったエリート会社員・梵孝太郎（そよぎ・こうたろう）が、梵の母の急逝をきっかけに出会うところから物語は始まる。
