The plot centres on three characters, each of whom are the focus of one episode. In the first, Bob (Bryan Dick), a waiter who wants to be a writer, falls in love with a prostitute, Jenny (Zoë Tapper): but this leads him into a downward spiral of drinking and spending his hard-earned savings.
