南米チリ。極端に細長い国で、ボリビアとペルーに隣接し、東はアンデス山脈が走る。そして西は荒々しい太平洋。海に面するように崖が地平の彼方まで続き、人の姿はほぼ見られない。常に大きな波があり、最高の舞台が用意されていると言われている、サーフィンのメッカともいうべきサーフ・ポイントがそこにはある。
