Die Seelen der auf dem Schlachtfeld Gefallenen erscheinen bei ihren Angehörigen. Sie beklagen sich darüber, dass ihnen der Eintritt in die jenseitige Welt und damit die ewige Ruhe verwehrt wird. Als Hercules davon erfährt, ahnt er sofort, dass hinter den mysteriösen Geschehnissen sein Halbbruder Ares steckt. Mit Iolaus macht er sich auf den Weg nach Tantalus.
A mystery drew Hercules and Iolaus to the city of Tantalus. There, the bodies of fallen warriors were disappearing from the battlefields. Hercules learned that Ares, the god of war, was to blame. After King Memnos' death, his son Daulin had assumed the throne, Daulin's sister Poena, had taken up arms against him. She believed Daulin had killed their father. Ares had created the entire situation merely to satisfy the appetite of his bloodthirsty hound, Graegus. After leashing the vicious beast, Hercules explained the truth to Daulin and poena, bringing an end to the family war.
Le jeune Krytus convainc Hercule et Iolas de se rendre à Tantale, un champ de bataille où les corps des guerriers morts au combat disparaissent mystérieusement. Hercule se retrouve pris au milieu d'un conflit opposant le roi Daulin et sa soeur Poena. Tous deux s'accusent mutuellement de voler les corps des soldats. Avec Iolas, Hercule est chargé d'enquêter sur le fantôme d'un soldat décédé.

Un misterio atrajo a Hércules y Iolaus a la ciudad de Tantalus. Allí, los cuerpos de los guerreros caídos iban desapareciendo de los campos de batalla. Hércules supo que el culpable era Ares, el dios de la guerra. Después de la muerte del rey Memnos, su hijo Daulin había asumido el trono, y su hermana Poena, había tomado las armas contra él. Ella creía que Daulin había matado a su padre. Ares había creado toda la situación simplemente para satisfacer el apetito de su perro sediento de sangre, Graegus.
