Bei der Suche nach ihrem Vater löst Angela am Flughafen den Sicherheitsalarm aus. Sie wird verhaftet und in U-Haft gesteckt. Ihr Pflichtverteidiger hält sie für schuldig. Angela gelingt jedoch die Flucht. Aber von nun an wird sie von allen gejagt.

On her way to Chicago in search of her father, Angela gets detained by the police in Ohio who think that her laptop computer is a bomb. She befriends a cellmate who helps her escape the clutches of the Praetorians. The public defender assigned to Angela doubts her story until Trelawney catches up with him.

Piégée par Trelawney et ses hommes, Angela est arrêtée par la police, qui l'accuse d'avoir tenté de poser une bombe dans un avion. Tom Daniels, avocat commis d'office, est chargé de la défendre. Au départ, elle s'était rendue à Chicago pour rendre visite à son père, qu'elle n'avait pas revu depuis quelque temps déjà. Son principal problème était alors d'éviter les Prétoriens, mais ces craintes ne sont plus à l'ordre du jour. Un ami prisonnier lui propose son aide, qu'elle accepte. Comme il s'agit vraisemblablement d'un coup monté, Angela tente d'évaluer ses chances d'être innocentée...
