  • S01E01 How to build a brick-style cutting board

    • February 15, 2017

From design to finish. Everything is x16 speed

  • S01E02 How to eliminate planer snipe for small projects

    • March 27, 2017

In this video I demonstrate how you can eliminate planer snipe on your project piece by moving it. I take a freshly made cutting board that is in dire need of planing and get it perfectly flat and true on both sides while completely avoiding any snipe at all. This process works very well for small projects while for long boards and for larger projects you may have to take different measures.

  • S01E03 How to build a self-sorting coin bank

    • April 6, 2017

I made a self-sorting coin toy bank for my son out of scrap cherry hardwood. Had some fun thinking this one up and experimenting along the way. It works, but I think I now want to make a gear-driven hopper/feeder for it!

  • S01E04 How to make a spalted maple wooden spoon

    • April 11, 2017

I make a wooden spoon for my wife using spalted maple and add a little twist to the design. Check it out! The finished product is gorgeous! I used my thin strip jig in the video in preparing the stock. I highly recommend it if you find yourself ripping thin strips for your projects.

  • S01E05 How to make your own dowels

    • April 13, 2017

In this video I show just how easy it is to make your own dowels. I make a few out of exotic hardwood that I will later use for accents in some other projects. With just a simple little jig, and 15 minutes, I get dowels that are 4 thousandths of an inch accurate to what I was going for. Watch to the end for some goof-ups and outtakes. Thanks for watching!

  • S01E06 How to make your own dowel centers

    • April 14, 2017

This video is part 2 in a 2-part series. Part 1 was how to make dowels using a jig and this video is about making your own dowel centers. Dowel centers are used to transfer dowel locations to joining boards so that you know where to drill your holes. There's not much to them, but they're crucial when it comes to using dowel joinery! There's a nifty trick demonstrated in this video that shows how to drill in exactly the center of a dowel. This technique can be used for a variety of thing like making wooden washers, bushings, spacers, etc.

  • S01E07 How to build 3 different kinds of recipe card boxes

    • April 23, 2017

In this video I build 3 different boxes, using 3 different types of wood, 3 different joinery techniques, and 3 different accents! It's a lot to pack into a single video so sit back, relax, and enjoy watching the build.

  • S01E08 How to build a zero-clearance miter saw insert

    • April 29, 2017

I kept having a ton of really thing cut-offs dropping down into my miter saw. It became really annoying because they would build up and obstruct my dust collection or interfere with the stock I was trying to cut. It's about time I got off my lazy duff and made a zero-clearance insert for the miter saw. In this video you'll see the complete build from start to finish along with a demonstration at the end of how well it works.

  • S01E09 How to make the BEST and EASIEST box joint / finger joint jig

    • May 18, 2017

I conjured up the idea of a fully customizable box joint and finger joint jig that allows for any width fingers but that is still super simple to assemble and operate. I think I may have just done it! The idea is so simple that I'm sure I'm not the first person to come up with this design, however I haven't seen anything quite like it online. If you'd like to try making this jig for yourself, you're welcome to the plans I drew up. As a thanks, please consider sharing the video and becoming a subscriber! The larger the audience, the more fun we can have!

  • S01E10 How to make an awesome trick box

    • May 29, 2017

In this video I demonstrate how to make an awesome trick box. Once the lid goes on, it's locked! No matter how you tilt, angle, or hold the box, the lid remains locked... unless you know the secret!

  • S01E11 How to make a headboard from an old door

    • June 8, 2017

In this video I recycle an old thrift store door and turn it into a beautiful headboard for a queen-sized bed. Seems like a pretty straight-forward project but I manage to run into a few bumps in the road. The outcome turned out great though, see for yourself!

  • S01E12 How to make corner floating shelves

    • June 26, 2017

In this video, I recycle some old pine siding in order to make three corner floating shelves that take advantage of some space which would otherwise go unused.

  • S01E13 How to build a headphone clamp/holder

    • July 13, 2017

In this video I manage to reclaim a bit of my office desk space by creating a clamp to hold my headphones off the side. I use a wedged mortise and tenon joint, a triple-splined joint, and a homemade star knob to get the job done.

  • S01E14 The 6-wood Guitar Stand!

    • July 21, 2017

I recently designed and created two guitar stands, one for my friend Mark and one for his son, Stephen. This video is a high-speed walk-through of the build in which I use 6 different species of wood to make the piece. I set the video to a recording I made of Stephen singing and playing his guitar who is accompanied by his father, Mark, on the harmonica. Turn up the volume, sit back, and enjoy this awesome build!

  • S01E15 How to make a guitar stand

    • July 27, 2017

In this video I design and make a fold-up portable knotty maple guitar stand to give as a gift to my friend Mark. I made another version for his son Stephen which can be viewed by following the link below. Stick around to the end and you'll see Mark's reaction when I present him with the finished piece. Lastly, you can find the design template I made below if you wanted to try this project for yourself. Hope you enjoyed the video, don't forget to like, subscribe, and leave me comment!

In this video I show you how to make three different designs of 3D cutting boards

  • S01E21 How to make a Christmas decoration from masonry nails

    • December 11, 2017

This is a recount of a video I put together years ago. I filmed it by fastening a web camera to a board and hanging it from the ceiling of my garage. I admit, my welding skills are pretty abysmal, but nevertheless, I still love the final product. I hope you like it too! For everyone watching, I wish you all the Merriest of Christmases and the Happiest of all New Years. God Bless! :)

  • S01E22 How to make a Camping Sign

    • December 29, 2017

Season 2

  • S02E01 How to make an Indicator Switch

    • March 14, 2018

"Did you feed the dog?" - Me... every day. Well not any more! In this video I make a real handy little indicator switch to help myself, and the family, easily know if our little doggo has had his meal. Don't have a dog? This little thing will help you in many other areas as well.

  • S02E02 How to make a waving American flag

    • April 11, 2018

I make a wooden American flag but do so in a fashion that makes it appear that it's waving in the wind. It really turns out amazing! Let me know what you think in the comments below and be sure to check out Arbortech's woodworking tools!

  • S02E03 How to make a hanging herb garden

    • June 8, 2018

I'm a horrible cook! But my wife is amazing at it! She loves to cook with fresh herbs and has lots of plants but nowhere to put them. In this video, I design a hanging herb garden that holds 12 potted herbs in front of a window. In typical Fisher's Shop fashion, you'll see me build it from start to finish while cracking lame jokes and having fun. Hope you enjoy it!

  • S02E04 Building a Putting Green w/ Ball Elevator

    • July 27, 2018

I wanted to build a putting green for my basement... but not just an ordinary putting green, I wanted to make it super cool with an automatic ball return system and even a lever-activated golf ball elevator where you can eject a new golf ball by pressing it with the head of your club. Overly complex? Uh... yeah, this is Fisher's Shop!

  • S02E05 How to build the ULTIMATE bed

    • September 28, 2018

I had built a loft bed for my son a while ago and it just wasn't cutting it. In this video, I design and build the Ultimate bed for his room. It has an integrated 6-drawer dresser, a pull-out hamper, a bookcase, stairs, storage compartment, and even a headboard that lights up with LEDs. Detailed plans are available for this build on my website so be sure to check it out using the links above! Thanks for watching!

  • S02E06 How to make Fisher's Flip Cart

    • October 13, 2018

I reinvented the flip cart with a clever new design so that it's not only a space-saving mobile cart, but it's also easier to use than any other design I've seen! The surface is locked and completely stable with just a single latch and there's integrated power so you no longer have to mess with power cords for your tools! Now you can switch between tools in a matter of seconds and not have your work flow interrupted while you search for an outlet to plug in your machine. A removable front face-plate allows for quick and easy access to the integrated power strip, and a handy storage drawer is below that can hold all your tool accessories. This is truly the best piece of shop furniture I have in my workshop!

  • S02E07 Making an Adjustable Sofa Table

    • November 14, 2018

My folks needed a new coffee table but one that wouldn't block my Dad's wheelchair from getting through. I designed this sofa table that has an adjustable height so that it could be put in front, on the side, or even behind the couch. In Fisher's Shop style, I make the first one a bit overly complex, but then I follow it up with a much more simplified version that you can make very easily too!

  • S02E08 Creating a sign with an X-carve

    • December 5, 2018

With the X-carve from Inventables, I decided to try my hand at making a sign from my logo using inlays. I carve up some Ash, Walnut, and Cherry to make a beautiful sign for the shop... but not without hitting some speed bumps along the way. Check out this video that shows you just how amazingly precise a CNC can be and how they truly have a spot in the woodworker's shop!

  • S02E09 Making a Santa Decoration

    • December 17, 2018

As a Christmas tradition, I'm making small decorations with my son each year. It gives me a chance to spend time with my boy, share my woodworking hobby, and gives him something to remember each passing year. Thanks to the X-Carve, this project was a snap and perfect for the beginner. Even if you don't have a CNC, you can print out stencils of the shapes and cut them out using a bandsaw if you'd like!

Season 3

  • S03E01 Making the Roll-Top Bandsaw Box

    • January 9, 2019

In this video I try my hand at making a bandsaw box. But in typical Fisher's Shop fashion, I dream up a rather complex one! This design boasts a unique roll-top lid for the top compartment along with a little drawer below. I batch out three of them in the video and you get to see some beautiful variations between them... along with my typical goofiness. If you'd like to build it for yourself, plans are available on my website! As always, thanks so much for watching!

  • S03E02 Ultimate Table Saw Jigs Part 1

    • February 5, 2019

This is just PART 1 of the Ultimate Table Saw Jigs collection that I've put together. Jigs are such an important part in the wood shop and are essential when you're looking for consistency, repeat-ability, and ease of a specific task. A good jig is one that isn't too complex but can tremendously simplify a given process, and I think I've got three here that fit this bill. The first three jigs that I'd like to show you in this video are the Thin Strip Jig, Fisher's Crosscut Sled, and the Miter Sled Attachment.

  • S03E03 Ultimate Table Saw Jigs Part 2

    • February 10, 2019

This is PART 2 of the Ultimate Table Saw Jigs collection that I've put together. Jigs are such an important part in the wood shop and are essential when you're looking for consistency, repeat-ability, and ease of a specific task. A good jig is one that isn't too complex but can tremendously simplify a given process, and I think I've got three here that fit this bill. The second three jigs that I'd like to show you in this video are the Tapering Jig, the Spline Jig, and Fisher's Box Joint Jig 2.0.

  • S03E04 Making Fisher's Push Stick

    • February 27, 2019

In this video I show you how to make MY favorite table saw push stick and why I designed it the way I did. Then I bring you along as I hand them out as gifts to friends and fans down at WBC2019. If you want to build your own, download the FREE template using the link in the video description and have at it! Thanks so much for watching and be sure to check out the WBAT Podcast for all sorts of hilarity and great conversations!

  • S03E05 Making a Battery Dispenser

    • March 27, 2019

We got through quite a few batteries in my house and the new ones are always scattered around in various junk drawers or storage closets. I got fed up with always have to hunt for the batteries I needed so I designed and built this awesome battery dispenser. Now all our batteries are in one centralized location making them easy to find and to get the ones you need. Also, I incorporated a small cabinet for smaller batteries as well as the tools you inevitably need to open those pesky battery compartments. If you'd like to build this for yourself, I have plans available on my website. I hope you enjoy the video and, as always, thanks for watching! And YES... the battery trick at the end is real. When you oxidize the zinc in a battery through normal usage, it makes bridges between the particles and makes it more like a network of springs. That is what gives the battery its bounce.

  • S03E06 Making an End-grain Inlay Cutting Board

    • May 1, 2019

We got through quite a few batteries in my house and the new ones are always scattered around in various junk drawers or storage closets. I got fed up with always have to hunt for the batteries I needed so I designed and built this awesome battery dispenser. Now all our batteries are in one centralized location making them easy to find and to get the ones you need. Also, I incorporated a small cabinet for smaller batteries as well as the tools you inevitably need to open those pesky battery compartments. If you'd like to build this for yourself, I have plans available on my website. I hope you enjoy the video and, as always, thanks for watching! Using an Inventables X-carve sure opens the door to making some really amazing things! In this video, I use my CNC to help make an absolutely beautiful end-grain walnut cutting board with a contrasting maple inlay as well as a couple more features! Watch the video to see just how versatile an X-carve can be (flattening, carving, engraving, etc.) and how useful it would be in YOUR shop!

  • S03E07 Making Fisher's Mobile Miter Station

    • June 3, 2019

I had one of those job-site miter saw stands which was taking up way too much room for my little shop. I designed a mobile miter saw station that conserves space, deploys to offer support for long boards, houses a dust collection system, and even has some integrated tool holders for convenience. This cart has been a game changer for my shop and it would be awesome in your shop too!

  • S03E08 Making Fisher's Lift-Top Coffee Table

    • July 18, 2019

I have a small covered patio area with an outdoor sectional sofa and was in need of a coffee table for it. I thought it would be neat if I could design one that also had a surface that could be lifted up and inward to become an eating surface for those seated at the couch. I thought it would be even cooler if it was on a diagonal so that, regardless of where you were seated at the sofa, you would have easy access to the table surface. This is what I came up with and how I made it!

  • S03E09 How to make a Trebuchet

    • August 17, 2019

The Inventables X-carve sure opens the door to making your designs come to life. In this video, I use Fusion360 to design a trebuchet and then I export the Gcode to Easel to cut out the pieces on my X-carve. Don't have a CNC? No problem! I show you how you can make one using ordinary tools as well. With the trebuchets together, I created a fun yard game using them to knock down castle targets made from stacked up pop cans

  • S03E10 Making the Chocolate Cake box

    • October 17, 2019

In this video I made a box for a child in the Beads of Courage program. I wanted it to be a unique-looking box so I thought to myself, "What kid doesn't like cake with chocolate dripping down the sides?" So I take on a rather technical build and combined standard box-building practices along with wood sculpturing to achieve a truly remarkable looking piece in the end. Check out the video to see just how it was done and to see the mouth-watering finished product!

  • S03E11 Making the Skeleton Bowl

    • November 11, 2019

n this video I build a couple Skeleton Bowls, one with the CNC and one using traditional tools. This is a very unique looking bowl that's perfect as a table centerpiece, a fruit bowl, or for any number of other things. It's constructed from a top ring and nine "ribs" that fit into dados along the bottom. Reinforcing dowels offer a beautiful accent to the rim while the curves of the ribs give it a very organic and fluid feel. This is definitely a beautiful piece and looks wonderful in our kitchen. Watch the video to see just how it all comes together!

  • S03E12 Making a Swivel Bookcase

    • December 5, 2019

I'm not a huge reader but my wife sure is and she was in dire need of a bookcase. I wanted to make something compact but yet still very functional. I designed this bookcase so that it has shelves for books on all four sides. An integrated lazy Susan allows the bookcase to swivel granting easy accessibility to everything on the shelves. The simplistic joinery makes it very easy to assemble and the fact it can be made from 3/4" plywood means it's a great project for the new-to-intermediate woodworker

Season 4

  • S04E01 How to make a wooden bucket

    • January 15, 2020

I admit, this was kind of a silly project but I was up for the challenge. Buckets are actually pretty challenging to make! Each of the staves is tapered and beveled so you have to get the cuts just right for everything to fit together perfectly. On top of that, I tried out bent lamination for the first time, I turned a handle for the bucket without a lathe, and I did the entire project without any metal fasteners. All in all, this definitely challenged my skills but ended up being the fanciest bucket you'll ever see!

  • S04E02 Making a Dog Kennel

    • March 19, 2020

My little fuzzy friend sure loves sleeping in his kennel, but it wasn't that nice of one. In this video you get to see how I built him a gorgeous one that doubles as an end-table. Additionally, I have detailed step-by-step plans available for this project that also includes instructions on how to make versions for medium-sized and big large dogs. Is your pooch needing something a bit nicer?

  • S04E03 Making Fisher's Adjustable Desk

    • May 22, 2020

Through months of painstaking 3D modeling and prototyping, I'm proud to show you how I make Fisher's Adjustable Desk. This is a light-duty desk that has a surface height from 27 1/2" in its lowest setting. The desk can be raised all the way up to 44 1/2" high to be a stand-up desk. Additionally, the surface can be tilted up to be a drafting table or even further to become an easel. There's a small surface catch piece that can be removed, flipped, and re-secured to keep your work from sliding off the tilted surface. There's a total of eight different height configurations and three surface angles at each one giving you plenty of adjustment with this little desk! Check out the video to watch me make it.

  • S04E04 Making a Picket Fence

    • June 19, 2020

In this video, I build a picket fence from scratch to replace some run-down rickety piece of junk that I made years ago. It's a straight-forward little build that required some clever jigs and a lot of patience to complete. Overall, the project was a lot of fun and the finished product sure looks fantastic! Check out the video and see for yourself! It's Shop Buddy #2 approved!

  • S04E05 Making an Outdoor Lounge Chair

    • July 23, 2020

I needed a way to stretch out and enjoy laying in the sun on my deck but also wanted something that was beautiful and functional at the same time. I designed this platform-style outdoor lounge chair that offers two different levels of incline or lays down completely flat for those times you want to fall asleep and get sunburn. Additionally, the other portion opens up to offer a sizable internal storage compartment for things that you want to keep handy during your lounging or for things that you don't want to blow away in the wind.

  • S04E06 Ultimate Table Saw Jigs Part 3

    • September 18, 2020

This is PART 3 of the Ultimate Table Saw Jigs collection that I've put together. Jigs are such an important part in the wood shop and are essential when you're looking for consistency, repeat-ability, and ease of a specific task. A good jig is one that isn't too complex but can tremendously simplify a given process, and I think I've got three here that fit this bill. The three jigs that I'd like to show you in this video are the Adjustable Circle-Cutting Jig, the Tenoning Jig, and Fisher's Dovetailing Jig

  • S04E07 How to Make a Woven Cutting Board

    • October 13, 2020

I came across a very unusual, but very interesting, woodworking design online and I wanted to see if I could replicate the results. Not only did I manage to figure out how it's done, but I ended up making some pretty stunning pieces myself. Take a look at this video to see how you can use the weaving technique to really add some interest and an artistic flare to some of your woodworking!

  • S04E08 Building a Mobile Tool Cart

    • October 30, 2020

Years ago I built a first piece of shop furniture. It was a sad excuse for a mobile planer stand and severely lacked in both the storage and functionality departments. I really needed something better so I set out to design something that would be an upgrade on all accounts. Imagine my surprise when I discovered my new design can be completely built from just two sheets of plywood with very minimal waste. It's the Two Sheet Tool Seat! I decided to go with drawers instead of a cabinet and chose heavy duty lockable casters to make it mobile. This thing has been an amazing upgrade to the shop, has an incredible amount of storage within, and was very affordable to build since it only needed two sheets. Check out the video and see if it could be a fit for your shop too!

  • S04E09 Making a woven Lazy Susan

    • November 7, 2020

My wife wanted a Lazy Susan for the downstairs island. She entertains down there often and would like a way for all her friends to be able to easily enjoy the variety of snacks and goodies that she makes available. There's actually very little that makes a Lazy Susan interesting since it's basically just the hardware mounted onto a board. With that in mind, I tried to come up with a way to spice it up a bit and to incorporate some artistic interest into the piece. Well, I think I did it! I used the "weaving" technique that I've explained in a previous video and managed to work in eight different species of wood into the piece. Walnut, Maple, Honey Locust, Purple Heart, Yellow Heart, Ipe, Marblewood, and Mahogany. Check out the video and see just how I ended up making, what I think just might be, the prettiest Lazy Susan ever! Like the circle-cutting jig? Watch the Ultimate Table Saw Jigs pt.3 video to see how I made it!

  • S04E10 Making the Ultimate Gaming Coffee Table

    • December 10, 2020

I really enjoy assembling puzzles and playing board games with my family, but we needed a better spot to do it. This puzzle/gaming table is a perfect solution! It allows me to preserve the puzzle I'm working on inside and it has two drawers on either side to hold the unassembled pieces. Removable surface boards keep the puzzle protected from being bumped or having any pieces lost as well! When playing board games, the surface boards can be flipped over and inserted into the mortises on the sides of the table to become gaming trays. These trays offer additional space as well as a convenient way to keep cards, tiles, or game pieces organized! This typical-looking coffee table is a wonderful piece of functional furniture that is sure to provide many hours of enjoyment while improving the overall gaming experience!

Season 5

  • S05E01 Making Fisher's Mobile Assembly Table

    • January 15, 2021

In my tiny shop, space is of paramount importance. I was in need of creating a large table that could both be a good work surface as well as a table for a CNC machine. Above all, the table needed to have a slim profile and a small footprint. I ended up designing the perfect solution that meets all my requirements and more! This table has a flippable surface that allows you to configure each side to accommodate your shop needs. Furthermore, it can be stored in the vertical position giving the table a slim form factor and conserving a ton of space! Add in all the other features such as integrated storage, nesting collapsible legs, integrated power, and you’ve got a heck of a space saving assembly table on your hands!

  • S05E02 Upgrading Mom’s Trash Cabinet

    • February 11, 2021

My mother recently asked me to remake her kitchen trash bin cabinet so that it pulls out all as one single unit. I took some measurements, borrowed her trash can, and got to work. I used the CNC to cut out form-fitting holes for the bins to live in and then built a simple box for the main structure. It was a simple little project but it sure was a nice upgrade for her kitchen. I had a lot of fun making this one and especially enjoyed joking around with Mom as I fumbled to get this thing installed and working!

  • S05E03 Making a TV Stand

    • March 12, 2021

We were long overdue for a new TV stand in our family room. We wanted something that would be larger, have an interesting look, offer some clever spots for displaying some home decorations, and that would have an open-backed cabinet so that we could hide away the stereo and cables. I came up with an nifty-looking design that satisfies all those requirements and that also had a beautiful continuous wavy inlay across the front cabinet doors! Check out the video to see just how I made it

  • S05E04 Making a Step Stool

    • April 9, 2021

My little shop stool has gotten pretty rickety and unstable. It's definitely not safe for me to stand on to get things off my lumber rack anymore. I needed something that would be more stable and be a touch taller. I thought it would be nice to have a shop stool that could also double as a step ladder. With that in mind, I drew up a Fisher's Shop take on a common design for a step stool. This piece features a stable double A-frame designed stool with a nested set of steps that can flip out on an axle. This turned out to be a wonderful little addition to the shop! And with just half-lap and dado joinery, it was a cinch to put together.

  • S05E05 Fisher's Yard Games

    • May 18, 2021

I’ve always wanted my own cornhole board set but I also wanted to make a revolving ladder ball game. My brother introduced me to this game and it's a ton of fun! Since I’ll need a way to keep score while playing the games, I figured I may as well add a scoreboard to the list too. What I thought would be really neat though is if I could package all the pieces for everything inside the cornhole boards and make the entire thing a self-contained, mobile, easy-to-store yard game set. Well… that’s exactly what I ended up doing and it turned out great!

  • S05E06 Making A Police Gear Stand

    • July 23, 2021

My good friend is a Deputy Sheriff, so I wanted to surprise him with his very own stand for all his day-to-day gear. It has brackets so he can hang his duty belt and bulletproof vest off the main post. On the top is a tray for his radio, bodycam, flashlight, as well as any other small items with a hole in the back to route charging cables through. Next to that is a lockbox that will contain his sidearm and his taser. Another nice thing about this stand is that the entire thing breaks down into three parts making it easy to transport or to ship. This is certainly a unique piece but yet something that is highly sought after by law enforcement officers, military personnel, and even the tactical enthusiast.
