Als Jasper Emma auf dem Schulweg begleitet, entdeckt er eine Vogelscheuche. Emma erklärt ihm, wofür die gut ist. Kurz darauf versperrt ein wütender Hund Jasper den Weg in sein Haus. Nur ein Polizist kann den Hund beruhigen, aber leider nicht für lange. Da baut Jasper einfach den Polizisten als Vogelscheuche nach und stellt ihn vor dem Haus auf. Auch wenn sich der Hund durch den falschen Polizisten nicht hereinlegen lässt, kommt er so schließlich doch ans Ziel.
Jasper is frightened by a scarecrow in Emma’s garden, so Emma explains what its for. Back at his place Jasper finds a dog that won’t let him go down the steps. A police man comes along and the dog quietens down. Jasper jumps to the conclusion that the dog is scared of the policeman, he does not notice the policeman giving the dog a sausage.
Jasper ne peut pas rentrer chez lui : un chien peu amène barre l'entrée de sa maison. Quand il voit un agent de police parvenir à calmer le toutou récalcitrant, Jasper décide d'employer les grands moyens, et construit un nouveau genre d'épouvantail !
