Season 7

Season 7 of the television series is not significantly different from Season 6. It maintains a high level of quality in terms of completeness and continues to produce standalone episodes that are comparable in quality to movies. However, despite concluding the alien conspiracy plot and introducing the theory of alien ancestors with a significant storyline, Season 7 does not receive the same level of popularity or impact as its predecessors. One of the distinct features of Season 7 is the significant increase in eventful episodes following David Duchovny's announcement of departure. Duchovny, who portrays the character of Mulder, wrote and directed the script for the second episode, while Gillian Anderson, who plays the character of Scully, wrote and directed the first episode. Additionally, William Davis, who portrays the smoking man, is responsible for writing the script for one of the episodes.
